Starfield Library (Byul-Madang Library) can be found right in the middle of Coex Mall. A public gathering place where people can read, talk, and relax. It has opened in the heart of COEX Mall in 2017. A towering bookshelf measuring 13 meters in height has around 70,000 books.

Starfield Library (Byul-madang Library) combines the meanings of Byul, which refers to the "Star", and Madang which refers to a "Public field" that anybody is welcome to use.

Shinsegae Group manages the Starfield Library and has poured over 6 billion won into it. The budgeted sum for running costs per year is 0.5 billion won.

"About 70,000 books can be found in its collection. Books about the arts and humanities may be found on the first floor, while books about hobbies and practical subjects, other languages, renowned authors' collections, eBooks, and so on can be found in the basement.
Starfield Library stands out from other libraries because of its specialized magazine section, which houses 600 different publications in its collection."

You can relax and read books in comfort on the second floor, accessible by escalator. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of places to sit. If you continue walking through the corridor past some cafes (Café Billy Angel or Café Arabica), you'll find more seating options.

More seats like these are available on the opposite site. A well-dressed old man with a pink shirt was also reading.

Many people from other countries were there, most likely because COEX was a required part of one of the tour packages.

Perhaps because it was out of the way, the area with tables behind Billy Angel and Cafe Arabica was quite empty. Most people don't seem to know that there are also tables on the opposite side.

Over 70,000 books can be found in the Starfield Library. With its library, COEX mall offers visitors even more to do except shopping.

The art, economics, and cooking fill the stands on the ground floor.

Books of many kinds are shown, from adult novels to fairy tale collections for kids.

You can also easily find the book you want with this computer.

As the name suggests, it's as if books are raining down from the sky like stars. The Starfield Library is a stunning location at any time of day or night.

Who the hell is in charge of the books around here?

The next-door Youngpoong Bookstore keeps things in order and provides information.

There is seating available in addition to the second floor. A communal table with an electrical outlet, a lounge table, and sofa seating can all be found on the ground floor.

Starfield Library was a popular spot for tourists to take selfies. In the winter, a big Christmas tree is placed in front of the Starfield Library, making it an especially joyful location.

It is not a place to study in peace because of its location in a retail mall, but rather it is a complex cultural environment.

You can stop by this enormous indoor library after visiting the department store or movie theater next door at COEX Shopping Mall.

Regardless of the weather, it's a terrific spot to visit if you're looking for something to do indoors.
