HiKR Ground (K-pop, K-drama, K-culture)
In this post, I'll tell you about a free attraction I recently discovered in the heart of Seoul. Here at HiKR Ground, run by the Korea Tourism Organization, you may learn about and enjoy many kinds of Korean culture.
You can find HiKR Ground right in the heart of the Jongno district. It's only a three-minute walk from Jonggak subway station's Exit 5, so it's easy to get to. Parking is also provided, however at an additional cost.
Floor guide
The HiKR Ground is completely free to use on all five levels. Are you interested in knowing what the meaning of "HiKR Ground" is?
Hi from KoRea!
The four letters from "Hi from Korea!" inspired the name "HiKR Ground," a place for young people interested in experiencing exciting and engaging destinations.
HiKR Wall (1F)
A massive media wall representing the brand HiKR and the space can be found on the ground floor.
In the HiKR Ground, I noticed a lot of purples. Let's move to the upper level. For me, the best time was spent on the second level.
K-pop Ground (2F)
The K-Pop Ground Zone can be found on the upper level of HiKR Ground. Each of the six themed areas is like stepping into a K-pop music video, complete with customizable lighting and audio.
The first concept is a setting in a subway. It makes me feel like I'm right in the middle of the action in one of those K-pop idol music videos.
3D avatar figures of international K-pop fans are also produced.
Next is 'My stage'. Anyone who comes here, as the name says, can play the lead role in a play.
A control panel sits in front of the stage, allowing for instantaneous adjustments to the lighting, scenery, and music. If you don't understand how it works, just ask a member of staff; they're always around to help.
With the push of a single button, the stage backdrop can be instantly transformed like this.
It was impressive and appealing to be able to make precise adjustments to the lighting with a touch screen. I think you'll have a great time even if you bring your kids.
In addition to that, you will find a "Color room" and a stage with a spaceship in the background.
On one side, several props were set up so that anyone could try them.
HiKR Art Musium (3F)
The third floor is where you'll find peace and quiet. An exhibition introducing Korean shows and movies available on Netflix can be seen here, as well as the HiKR Art Museum.
I'm not a regular Netflix user, but I learned about all the great Korean shows and movies, thanks to the exhibition. That gadget can also be used to try out a virtual reality experience.
HiKR Cave (4F)
In a multi-experience zone on the fourth level, local tourist sites in Korea can be experienced through all five senses, not just reading about the information.
You can get information about domestic festivals by touching the screen at the local festival Digilog (combination of digital and analog) experience center.
HiKR Lounge (5F)
On the fifth floor, guests won't find any exhibitions but will find the famous Knotted Donut and a comfortable lounge.
Conclusion
I highly suggest you check out this free exhibition area in the heart of Jongno, Seoul. It's a great place to take kids and friends because there's so much to do and see, especially on the second floor. It would be also great to hang out with your international friend who loves K-pop.
All viewings take place within the building, which is convenient because it means you can still come even if it's pouring or freezing outside.
If you're ever in Seoul, you should check it out. The "HiKR Ground" is a highly recommended tourist attraction in the Seoul area.
