Mangwon Market
My favorite place is Mangwon Market.
Even though I enjoy exploring traditional markets all over the country, I find that the traditional Mangwon Market is exceptionally hip compared to the other markets.
Maybe it's because I went there on a Friday evening, and the place was packed. It wasn't as busy as the weekend, but there were still a lot of people.
However, the excitement of a traditional market is enhanced by its bustling atmosphere.
Mangwon Goroke
These twist donuts are a must-have whenever I visit Mangwon Market. The twist donuts at Mangwon Market, for some reason, seem to be better than those at other locations. Haha
You can also find appetizing side dishes
Mangwon Sikdang
It was a pain in the neck to prepare dinner, so I went to Mangwon Sikdang to pick up a bowl of noodles instead.
COVID-19 influenced the stores to use Kiosks.
The eatery here is also quite nice. Anywhere you eat in Mangwon Market will satisfy your appetite.
Mangwon Tteok-galbi
The Mangwon Market specialty; Mangwon Tteokgalbi. As expected, the line was lengthy.
However, a guide recommends making reservations without waiting in line. I was not planning to buy a lot, so I was thinking whether or not to make a reservation...
Since I've traveled this far, I could not simply leave, so made a reservation.
Meats in the process of becoming Tteok-galbi
You can also buy raw meat mixture here. (11,000 won/kg)
As scheduled, I arrived for pick-up.
Galbi Jangteo-da
One bowl of eel soup: 10,000 won; one whole grilled duck: 7,000 won. Inexpensive goods and services are everywhere.
U-i-lag
U-i-rag, which is full of jeon, also has a very long waiting line.
Mangwon Dak-gangjeong
Got some chicken gangjeong at my daughter's favorite place Mangwon Dak Gang-jeong.
Yuk Joong-wan, a local of the Mangwon-dong neighborhood, visited here. (Not sure if he still resides in Mangwon or not.)
It's difficult to choose what to eat at Mangwon Market because there's so much good stuff there.
I also went to one of my favorite gimbap places
The gimbap here is freshly rolled right after you place your order.

You'll find a wide variety of mouthwatering foods at Mangwon Market.
Even Naver's grocery shopping in Mangwon Market is popular.
A wide variety of products are also available at a good price.
Dalgona can be found when strolling the market. When it was popular, it was priced at 2,000 won, but now it's down to 1,500 won.
The most convenient parking lot for Mangwon Market appears to be the public lot at Mangwon 1-2. Large amounts of parking are available at a reasonable price.
There is a reduction in parking rates if you purchase at the market.
