AndersonC (seongsu store)
Today, I had the pleasure of visiting AndersonC Seongsu, a renowned vintage furniture store in Korea.
Whenever I strolled down Seongsu-Dong, I always wondered what would be on the inside of this building. I never would have guessed that AndersonC, renowned for its vintage furniture, would be relocating here. Then I recently saw this stunning location on social media and couldn't resist visiting.
The AndersonC showroom is free to see with the purchase of a beverage from the first-floor cafe. I was able to get this kind of admittance ticket after visiting the café.
The room next to the cafe is where the exhibition starts; it is furnished mostly with red chairs and tables. Although it is merely a set of chairs, the coordinated colors make it appear like an artwork.
Feel free to kick back with a drink or simply sit here and relax. It was pleasant that, despite being weekend, there weren't too many people.
Leaving the coffee, we made our way into the room housing the furniture show. Upon ascending from the cafe, you will come across an area filled with chairs. From now on, entry will be limited to those who have the tickets.
Be careful not to touch or sit on the furniture!
I mostly photographed things that I enjoy, but there are a lot of other kinds of vintage furniture. I suggest you come and see all of the furniture in person because there are a lot more.
The great thing about this exhibition is that it mostly showcases rare and unique pieces of furniture. Products are available for purchase, and the helpful staff on each floor will gladly answer any questions you may have.
There is a large selection of furniture, including chairs, desks, couches, and even some tiny things. These kind of wood products with unusual shapes or curves are my favorites.
One of the furniture items that I liked was this product as well. The combination of cloth and wood/steel gives it an interesting shape.
A lovely combination of steel and wood in a minimalist desk design. It was so beautiful that I wanted to bring it home with me.
I felt like I was at a museum since there was so much pricey, antique furniture that was really difficult to find anywhere else. This is a fantastic spot to check out in Seongsu-dong if you are interested in furniture and interiors.
A cozy wooden chair, ideal for settling up with a good book and a mug of tea.
Every floor has its own unique ambiance, made possible by the meticulously planned lighting of the halls. The artist responsible for these space deserves a lot of praise.
New Building
Go outdoors and turn to the side to find the new building once you've looked around the old one. On the ground level, you'll find a restaurant. On the second, the exhibition expands to showcase even more things.
Make sure you keep your ticket and bring it with you since they will check again when you reach the second floor.
Out on the spacious terrace, you'll find some outdoor furniture as well.
With the chairs arranged inside, the old building's square windows provide the impression of a picture frame. From afar, it appears as though numerous miniature picture frames are hanging.
Restaurant (1F)
Finally, I did a brief tour of the restaurant on the first level, where you can find further vintage furniture.
For me, as an interior design enthusiast and blogger, Anderson Seongsu has been a treasure trove of ideas and inspiration. If you share my enthusiasm for interior design or are interested in vintage furniture, I highly recommend to visit AndersonC Seongsu.
