National Museum of Korea
Even though I grew up in Seoul and totally love exhibitions, galleries, and art museums, this is my first time visiting the National Museum of Korea.
As soon as I stepped through the entryway, I was immediately struck by the overwhelming size of the museum.
It's typically a museum where people check out exhibitions, but since I'm really into architecture, I came here to see and explore all the different structures. Still, that doesn't mean I skipped any exhibits.
Ten-story Stone Pagoda (Gyeongcheonsa Temple)
To get a better shot of the Gyeongcheonsa Ten-story Stone Pagoda, I went up to the 3rd floor.
All the lounges were surprisingly nicely furnished compared to other museums and galleries, and the décor was so nice, like a furniture showroom.
Most people visiting today were from other countries, and I had no idea the National Museum was so popular.
No camera can do justice to the exquisite porcelain on display at the museum, but let me tell you, it was all stunning.
My Apple Watch indicated that I had walked more than 6 kilometers after circling all three floors of the exposition halls. Everybody, please put on your most comfy footwear.
Dongui Bogam
The Dongui Bogam is a Korean book compiled by the royal physician, Heo Jun, and was first published in 1613 during the Joseon period of Korea. The book is regarded as important in traditional Korean medicine and is one of the classics of Oriental medicine today.
And, thankfully, they handed me a little souvenir as a gift when I was leaving.
