Rainbow fountain (Banpo Hangang park)

Rainbow fountain (Banpo Hangang park)

I recently visited Banpo Hangang Park with my friends who live in Seoul, and it was an unforgettable experience. Known for its spectacular fountain show, Banpo Hangang Park is a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists.

By the time we arrived around 9 pm, the park was already packed with people, all eager to enjoy the mesmerizing Rainbow Fountain show and the lively atmosphere.

One of the first things that caught my attention was the live busking performance right by the river. The atmosphere was incredible, with music filling the night air as people gathered to listen. It felt like one of those perfect Seoul moments, where the city’s energy meets relaxation by the water.

Food Truck

Look at how beautiful it is! No wonder people keep coming back to Banpo Hangang Park. Even though I haven't visited Yeouido Hangang Park yet, I already feel like Banpo is my favorite Hangang Park experience.

On our way to the park, we stopped at a convenience store to grab some liquor and a picnic mat. If you're visiting during the day, renting a picnic basket is also a fantastic idea for a more comfortable setup.

There were food trucks, but the lines were way too long to wait. Instead, we decided to order food delivery, which turned out to be the best decision!

Of course, no Hangang Park visit is complete without a bowl of instant ramyun. Seeing the long queue for ramyun was both amusing and exciting, it felt like a rite of passage for a perfect Hangang picnic.

How to Get Ramyun at Hangang Park:

- Buy a paper bowl (comes with chopsticks) for 1,500 won.
- If you need extra chopsticks, it's 50 won per pair.
- Fill the bowl with hot water and hit the start button on the ramyun cooker.
- The recommended cooking time is 5 minutes, but I left mine for an extra minute since I prefer slightly overcooked noodles.
- Adjust the water level according to your taste—I stuck with the default amount.

The ramyun tasted amazing, but the highlight was eating it outdoors by the river. I don’t know why, but food always tastes better in Hangang Park!

I loved the atmosphere at Banpo Hangang Park. The busking performance was a major highlight, it was hands down the best street performance I’ve ever seen.

The Rainbow Fountain, the river breeze, the food, and the music all came together to create an incredible experience. Whether you go for a picnic, a casual walk, or just to chill with friends, Banpo Hangang Park has something for everyone.

If you haven't been yet, I highly recommend visiting at night to experience the fountain show and vibrant night scene!
