Café Tung
Yulgok-ro area has recently become very trendy. The Royal Building's roastery cafe on the ground floor is also quite attractive, but we're going somewhere else.
Up here, on the seventh floor. Café Tung.
This is what you'll see when you exit the elevator on the seventh floor. There is a corridor rather than a storefront directly outside the exit, all the shops on each side are open.
Tung, a cafe, is on the right, while Empty Life, a bar, is on the left.
Most of its clients appear to be cafe visitors during the daytime and can enjoy both spaces, the [Empty Life] on the left side changes to a lounge bar in the evenings. The Espresso Beverages are available till 10 p.m.
Due to the breathtaking scenery, this spot has gained rapid popularity.

The [Empty Life] on the left has beautiful scenery, too.
The Seoul National University Hospital is visible from here.
Garden View, a Chinese restaurant, used to be located on the 11th floor of the Hospital. It was run by the Sejong Hotel, so the food was great, and the view of the palace was fantastic. However, during Covid 19, it was shut down entirely.
The restaurants next to the Arario Museum offer excellent palace views as well, however, they are very popular, and reservations are highly recommended.
Ordered two coffees and a slice of cake. When compared to the prices of today, it didn't feel that pricey. So, I didn't have a lot of expectations, but the coffee turned out to be quite tasty.
BerryBerry Good Crumble 8,500 won
It's oddly unusual and maybe a little overdone, with ingredients like vanilla cream and blueberry and raspberry compote, but it was quite tasty. The cream had a buttery flavor, but I am not sure if it was made of vanilla or not.
Unfortunately, the mushy cream made the crumble’s texture a little less impressive.
Americano 5,500 won
Instead, I highly recommend the coffee.
Medium-roasted beans had a fantastic delicate nutty flavor. I asked for a mild coffee, so the helpful staff poured the remaining shot into a second glass just in case it was too weak.
Such attention to detail is rare these days and I really appreciate it.
I really enjoyed myself in the cafe and hope to go back soon, perhaps on my own.
