Dongbaekhun

Dongbaekhun

After spending a delightful summer day in Anguk-dong under the scorching sun, we decided to cool off at  Dongbaekheon (Samcheong-dong, Seoul) Cafe in Samcheonggak with a refreshing bowl of Mango Bingsu (shaved ice). The combination of fresh mango, condensed milk, and sweet red bean paste was simply divine and instantly lifted my mood.

Samcheonggak is a traditional cultural and artistic space that offers a variety of experiences, from fine Korean dining to cozy cafes and even wedding venues. It’s an ideal destination for a date, a family outing, or a relaxing time with friends.

For those driving, parking is available, and if you prefer public transportation, a shuttle bus runs from Anguk Station (Exit 5) and Hansung University Station (Exit 6).

Dongbaekhun

Located within Samcheonggak, Dongbaekheon is a traditional Korean café where visitors can enjoy an authentic Hanok experience.
While cities like Andong, Gyeongju, and Jeonju are well known for their historic Hanok villages, this café in Seoul offers a similarly tranquil atmosphere all without leaving the city center.

A trip to Dongbaekheon wouldn’t be complete without trying their Bingsu (shaved ice).

In addition to Bingsu, Dongbaekheon offers a variety of Korean traditional desserts and teas. If you’re looking for a more traditional treat, opt for a Korean tea and snack combo. Instead of the usual cakes or cookies, the café serves nutritious and authentic Korean snacks that complement the tea perfectly.

The Mango Bingsu was an absolute highlight. A generous scoop of vanilla ice cream sits at the center, surrounded by slices of fresh mango. Unlike many places that use frozen fruit, this café uses real, juicy mangoes, making every bite incredibly refreshing.
