Gabaedo
Gabaedo (Namdaemun Market Store) is located in a historical Hanok-style building built during the Japanese colonial period and is currently the only shopping center building from that time remaining in downtown Seoul.
Since its first launch in September 2017, Gabaedo has six locations across Seoul, including Myeongdong, COEX, and Gangnam.
On the first level, you could find a variety of merchandise, but the prices were quite expensive. This rabbit-shaped incense holder craft costs 25,000 won.
Additionally, you can purchase traditional Korean sweets by weight, which seems to be very popular with visitors from other countries.
Menu
On the upper level, you'll find seating where you can enjoy your coffee and sweets.
The place was packed with customers sipping their coffee, but luckily, there was no waiting. The ancient wooden furniture and red brick walls provide a warm and inviting atmosphere.
咖啡 (Gabae) meaning 'coffee' + 島 (Do) meaning 'island' = A name that brings to mind the cozy vibe of a small island with coffee right in the heart of the city
