Hergé Bakery (seongsu-dong)
Hergé is famous for its jambon beurre sandwich.
Typical French-style pastries and breads were baked using sourdough and sold in a pleasant atmosphere. The jambon beurre my mother purchased from this temporary department store kiosk earlier was really wonderful.
When using Seongsu Station, use Exit 2 and walk for a minute. They run a second store in Apgujeong-dong, although the flagship store is in Seongsu-dong.
If you get a drink in the cafe on the second floor, you can eat Hergè's bread while you stay.
Seongsu Bakery full of French sensibility
It's a really French setting!
The shop may be tiny, but it's beautifully furnished. Hergé was the name of the cartoonist of <The Adventures of Tintin>.
The kitchen inside was considerably bigger than the rest of the store.
Seongsu Herge's Bakery Lineup
Basil Scone 4.2 / Palmicarre 4.9
The size of the Scones and Palmicarre were large. As there is now only one available, it must be in high demand.
Campagne 6.5 / Rice Campagne 7.3 / Walnut & Cranberry 7.3 / Fig Campagne 7.8
Levan, a naturally fermented species, is used to create Campagnes. Hergè is a must-visit for sourdough lovers.
Valrhona choco Macadamia 8.0 / Pain de seigle 8.5 / Olive Ciabatta 4.8 / Cheese Ciabatta 4.8
The ciabatta and rye breads catch my eye as well.
Jambon beurre sandwich 7.8
It's worth it to visit Hergé for the jambon beurre. It's a baguette cut in half, and it came in such lovely packaging.
Around 4 o'clock on a weekday, many of them were still there. But at 6:30, right before they closed, there was only one remaining!
Croissant 4.0 / Custard cream 5.2 / Hazelnut pepper 6.5 / Injeolmi Cream 5.2 / Pain au chocolat 5.0
Baguette 3.8 / Cinamon cruffin 4.0 / Custard cruffin 4.2 / Rasberry Cruffin 4.5 / Croffle 4.5
Danish Bread 7.0 / Plain financier 3.0 / Valrhona choco 3.4 / Coconut 3.2 / Truffle salted caramel 4.2
Many other goods, such as wine and jam, can be found here as well.
If it isn't COVID-19, I'd want to have a picnic in Seoul Forest with a bottle of wine and some Jambon Beurre.
Herge's Jambon Beurre
The taste of Hergè's Jambon Beurre is absolutely amazing.
Here, it has a richer, more buttery flavor and a less salty one. It has a great taste, especially with the pepper. If just for the Jambon Beurre, Herge would be worth a trip.
