mk2
I've been wanting to visit Cafe mk2 (Seochon, Seoul) for quite some time. Every time I tried, it was always packed until last weekend, when I finally managed to go.
It was a perfect weekend, with clear skies after the rain. As always, Gyeongbokgung Palace looked absolutely stunning.
Out of all the alleys in Seochon, this one is my favorite. Just across from mk2, you’ll find Hai and several other fashion-related stores, making this area a charming spot to explore.
I’ve noticed that people always take photos in front of mk2, so next time, I’ll have to make sure I do the same!
The cafe had a vibrant and inviting ambiance, with colorful tables and a cool, laid-back vibe. We chose to sit at a lovely green table, which added to the charm.
The walls were adorned with huge posters and artwork, creating a stylish, gallery-like feel. There was also a small bookshop tucked away in what felt like an attic, so I spent some time browsing the shelves.
We ordered two Americanos and a slice of matcha chocolate cake. I had hoped to try the carrot cake, which is said to be delicious, but unfortunately, it wasn’t available that day. I’ve also heard great things about mk2’s sherbet, but since it was quite chilly outside, I’ll have to save that for summer.
Since we arrived later in the day, the cafe wasn’t too crowded, and the atmosphere was much more relaxed and peaceful than I had expected. If I can catch it on a quieter day again, I’d love to become a regular here.
