When I want to enjoy wonderful coffee in a peaceful ambiance, away from the hectic streets of Hongik University, Bean Brothers (Hapjeong, Seoul) is always my go-to spot.

A short walk from Hapjeong Station, Exit 7, past Eunhasu Cafe, you'll spot a fairly dark, industrial-looking building, this is BeanBrothers Hapjeong.

The enormous glass door immediately caught my eye the first time I visited. A friend introduced me to this cafe a few years ago, and since then, it has become one of my regular haunts. Beanbrothers uses multiple types of coffee beans, each with its own unique flavor, and they’re all consistently delicious.

Beyond serving great coffee, Bean Brothers offers a wide selection of drip bags, beans, and pure coffee extract. It’s a well-known name among coffee lovers, and they also sell coffee online and even provide a coffee subscription service.

Interestingly, while writing this blog, I learned that Bean Brothers actually started as a website rather than a physical coffee shop. It began as a coffee subscription service, where customers could regularly receive samples of different roasts. The passion of the founders is evident in every detail—from the quality of the beans to the atmosphere of the space. Coffee here simply tastes better.

The first-floor bar seating is ideal for experiencing the full aroma and flavor of the coffee as soon as it's served.

Bean Brothers specializes in premium coffee beans that are great for both pour-over and espresso-based drinks. While the Americano is slightly on the pricier side, the flavor makes it worth it. (Bonus: If you order to-go, you get a 2,500 won discount!)

Despite its huge space, the cafe is always busy, especially on weekends. Since large cafes are rare in this area, it has become a popular spot for people working on their laptops.

We ordered two Americanos, each made with a different blend:

Malt Blend - A nutty, grain-forward blend, combining the rich nuttiness of Brazilian beans with the sweetness of Colombian beans. As someone who enjoys nutty flavors, this was perfect for me.

Black Suit Blend - A smoother, sweeter blend with a rich depth of flavor. It offers a broad spectrum of tastes, making it a great choice for those who love a balanced, slightly sweet coffee.
