NU Roasting Haus

NU Roasting Haus

Not far from the Line Friends store at Hongdae Station, NU Roasting Haus is a cozy little spot dedicated to showcasing beans with bright acidity and sweetness, and bringing out their best through expertly crafted coffee.

They also sell their freshly roasted beans through their online store, so if I find another bean I love, I know where to get it next time.

I really like their simple house-shaped logo, it’s charming in its minimalism.

A few tables are set up outside, making NU Roasting Haus the perfect spot to enjoy a sunny day and a peaceful cup of coffee.

The coffee station is stocked with plenty of tools and supplies, but everything is neatly arranged around a large, inviting bar. I ordered two filter coffees, one with Ethiopian beans, and the other with the Nicaraguan beans I’ve been curious about lately.

While waiting for my filter coffee, I took a seat and soaked in the warm sunlight and cool breeze.

The alley where NU Roasting Haus sits is quiet, with few cars or people passing by, it feels wonderfully peaceful here.

Some were quietly working on their laptops, while others chatted softly with friends. The space was filled with people of all ages, each enjoying the café in their own way.

In one corner of the shop, there’s a neatly arranged display of beans you can smell, along with hand-drip equipment and even Kinto servers. It’s a coffee lover’s little treasure trove.

The coffee is brought to your table in a charming server that immediately catches my eyes. It’s a lovely touch that elevates the experience.

The coffee is served in a thick, cozy cup that holds the warmth beautifully. As I poured the Nicaraguan filter coffee into the cup, a vibrant grassy aroma wafted up, familiar and refreshing, like a field in spring.

In both flavor and aroma, this was easily the best Nicaraguan coffee I’ve had in recent memory. Even the natural fermentation notes blended beautifully, it hit all the right notes for my palate.

Then came the iced Ethiopian filter coffee.
Rather than being overly bright or citrusy, it leaned more into sweetness. Smooth and mellow, with a refreshingly clean finish that lingered pleasantly.

The coffee had a light, golden-brown hue, so clear and beautiful that it made me understand why it’s hard to give up iced coffee, no matter the season.

I couldn’t resist and picked up a bag of the Little Red Riding Hood Nicaraguan beans.
The staff kindly offered a complimentary drip bag with my purchase, so I grabbed the last remaining one, Peruvian. I’m really hoping I can recreate that same rich, clean flavor at home as I had in the café.

It was an impulsive bean purchase sparked by a random visit, but I’m glad I gave in.
The coffee matched my taste perfectly, and the quiet charm of this little alley made everything feel even more special. I’m happy to have found another spot I know I’ll want to return to.
