Tenné
Seongsu-dong is undoubtedly one of the trendiest areas in Seoul right now. Despite its growing popularity, it still feels less hectic compared to Hongdae or Gangnam, making it an ideal spot to explore at a leisurely pace.
On a friend’s recommendation, I visited Tenne (Seongsu, Seoul), a spacious bakery café with a relaxing ambiance, aesthetic interiors, and an absolutely heavenly aroma of freshly baked goods.
Menu
While brunch was highly recommended, we had already eaten lunch, so we decided to just order two pastries.
Tenne offers a wide selection of bread and desserts, including simple sweets and more intricate pastries. The Choux looked particularly delicious, making it hard to resist.
I was thrilled to find Sucre and various types of Kouign-Amann, one of my favorite pastries at the moment. It was genuinely difficult to choose just a couple!
After much deliberation, we finally ordered an iced Americano, a hot Cafe Latte, a Cinnamon Kouign-Amann, and a Mango Coconut Choux.
Cinnamon Kouign-Amann 4,800
The outer layer was coated with cinnamon and sugar, making it crisp and flavorful. However, the taste didn’t quite match my personal preference for Kouign-Amann, as I usually prefer a stronger buttery and caramelized flavor.
Mango Coconut Choux 5,000
This one exceeded my expectations! The coconut flavor was present but not overpowering, making it enjoyable even for those who aren’t big fans of coconut. The mango puree filling was just the right amount, not excessive, resulting in a perfectly balanced pastry.
With beautiful terrace seating, it’s the perfect place to enjoy coffee and dessert while people-watching in the gentle breeze. On a nice day, I can’t think of a better way to spend the afternoon!
