I recently stayed at Moxy (Myeongdong, Seoul) Hotel, a newly opened hotel in the heart of Seoul’s shopping district. If you’re looking for a modern, stylish, and conveniently located hotel, Moxy is a fantastic option.

Seoul has two Moxy hotels under the Marriott brand, one in Myeongdong and another in Insadong.

The hotel’s central location makes it easy to explore; Myeongdong Shopping Street, Namsan Tower, Gwanghwamun, and Gyeongbokgung Palace.

Moxy shares its building with Le Méridien, with: 

- Moxy Hotel rooms on floors 5 to 8

- Le Méridien rooms starting from floor 9

- The shared lobby on the 4th floor

The lobby also has lockers for small items and valuables, plus free video games to enjoy! The laid-back and stylish atmosphere makes it a great spot to relax.

Since the breakfast is continental, the selection was limited but decent for a light meal.
After comparing Moxy Myeongdong vs. Moxy Insadong, I preferred the breakfast at Insadong.

 

Family Room  #553

During my last stay at Moxy Insadong, I found the standard rooms too small. This time, I booked a Family Room at Moxy Myeongdong, which was twice the size of a standard room, perfect for our group!

The room design was modern, with a wall-mounted fridge and a safety box under the bed for valuables.

 

Bathroom

No bathtub in the bathroom

 

Laundry Room (5F)

The self-laundry room on the 5th floor is free to use, a great feature for long-term travelers! No fitness center or swimming pool, though.

​With its prime location, modern design, and affordable rates, Moxy Myeongdong is a great choice for visitors exploring Seoul.

As Myeongdong continues to attract more international travelers, this trendy new hotel is a fantastic option for those wanting to stay in the heart of the city.
