Moxy Hotel Myeongdong (Family room)
I slept at the Moxy Hotel, which is conveniently located in the heart of the Myeong-dong shopping district and is a great choice for anyone visiting the area.
Myeong-dong and Insa-dong are the locations of two Marriott Moxy hotels in Seoul.
Two hotels, the Marriott Hotel Moxy and the Le Meridien, share a single building.
Having just opened its doors on November 25, 2022, this hotel is brand new. The Central Post Office is located behind, and the Chinese Embassy is directly in front of it. With a convenient location, guests may easily access the Myeong-dong shopping district.
The Moxy Hotel offers a valet parking service for KRW 25,000, and guests who park at the Seoul Central Post Office can get a discount ticket for 24 hours of parking by registering it at the front desk.
The Hotel Moxy is on the left and the Hotel Le Méridien is on the right. The lobby is on the 4th floor of the building. Rooms at the Moxy Hotel are located on levels 5 through 8, whereas those at Le Meridien Hotel start on floor 9.
Bar Moxy
The lobby and bar can be found on the fourth floor. From 18:00 to 01:00, guests can enjoy alcoholic drinks like wine in the bar, and from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, continental breakfast is available.
The Marriott Platinum member promotion is available in four varieties, and we opted for the continental breakfast and late check-out till 4 p.m.
Free games and a cool atmosphere make this bar a great hangout. Those who enjoy video games are likely to enjoy them because of the wide variety of games offered.
Simple items and valuables can be stored in the lobby lockers.
The location is perfect for exploring Myeong-dong, as it is adjacent to both Namsan Tower and the main street in the district.
Walking through Myeong-dong, I saw that the Chinese embassy was always closed and guarded by police. You can look right into it from here.
Agwa, an alcoholic beverage, and orange juice, a non-alcoholic beverage, are both available as welcome beverages. The drink comes in a lovely little Agwa glass.
Because it was a continental breakfast, the selection was limited, but good enough for a light breakfast. When choosing between the Myeong-dong and Insa-dong locations of Moxy for breakfast, I prefer the one in Insa-dong.
Family Room #553
My last Moxy stay in Insa-dong left me feeling that the room was too small, so this time I made sure to reserve a family room rather than a standard one in Myeongdong. Because it was double the size of a standard room, it was perfect for us.
It can accommodate up to 4 guests, including children.
The room has two queen-sized beds and an air purifier.
It was great to have the smart speaker by the bed for access to stuff like YouTube and music, but Netflix did not work.
Similar to Moxy Insadong, the phone features an antique design. The refrigerator is mounted on the wall; valuables can be stored in a safety box beneath the bed.
Bathroom
There was no separate bathtub in the bathroom. Unlike other hotels, there was no bathrobe, which was somewhat unexpected.
Every time I stay somewhere, the slippers are always white, and I don't think I've ever seen a pair of black slippers.
Laundry Room (5F)
Long-term guests will appreciate the free use of the self-laundry room on the fifth floor. Unfortunately, there is no fitness center or swimming pool.
Because of its convenient location in the heart of the Myeong-dong shopping district, Moxy is a great choice for visitors to Seoul. Nearby sights include Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seoul Tower, Cheonggyecheon, Gwanghwamun, and several excellent restaurants.
Recently, I've noticed an increase in the number of foreign visitors to Myeong-dong. This trendy new Myeong-dong hotel offers convenient accommodations at a reasonable rate.
