Sajeogin

Sajeogin

While browsing Airbnb for a place to stay, I stumbled upon a traditional Korean hanok that immediately caught my attention.

Built in 1929, this hanok offered a peaceful escape without having to leave Seoul. The idea of experiencing such tranquility in the heart of the city was too incredible to pass up, so I booked it right away.

Sajeogin (Bukchon, Seoul) is conveniently located in the city center, just a few minutes' walk from Anguk Station.

Beyond the main entrance, another door revealed the beautiful hanok courtyard.

When I walked in, I was greeted by soft music playing in the background, it felt like a warm embrace. Despite only being open for two months, the host had impeccable taste, creating a space that felt both inviting and refined.

The hanok was thoughtfully furnished with a mix of vintage pieces and modern touches.

Kitchen

Kitchen equipped with a refrigerator and microwave, perfect for storing and reheating simple meals

A lofted sleeping area above the kitchen, though with just the two of us, we only used the main bedroom

Dining room

A round table, antique chairs, and Louis Poulsen lighting. Exactly the kind of interior I love

Surprisingly, despite being surrounded by city buildings, the guesthouse was incredibly quiet even more than I had expected.

Its lush greenery fills the space and perfectly complements the green sofa beside it. The blend of natural elements and traditional architecture created a peaceful atmosphere.

Bedroom

The bedroom was so comfortable that I slept exceptionally well. I woke up to the cool autumn air, feeling refreshed.

Sleepless in Seattle

Bathroom

I’ve always been fascinated by remodeled hanoks and how they blend tradition with modern living.

This stay was a dream come true, I finally got to experience it firsthand, and it was absolutely fantastic.
