Sajeogin
During the fall of 2021, I was browsing Airbnb for a place to stay and one place came across that piqued my interest.
Built in 1929, it was a Hanok, a type of traditional Korean house.
Appreciating peace and quiet without leaving Seoul. This was so incredible that I had to go ahead and book a room immediately.
Conveniently located at the heart of the city and only a few minutes walk from Anguk Station. Looking at the map, I wondered how such a peaceful guesthouse could be located here.
Entrance
Beyond the main entrance was another door where I could see a beautiful hanok.
Amazingly, there was music playing when I walked in.
It was like a warm embrace. This accommodation has just been open for approximately two months, but the host appears to have excellent taste.
A lovely area with vintage furniture and the light coming in.
Kitchen
The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave, allowing you to store and reheat simple foods.
The area above the kitchen can be used as a bedroom as well. However, as there were only two of us, we could only use one section.
Dining room
A round table, antique chairs, and lighting by Louis Poulsen. The interior was exactly what I desired.
One side of the yard features wonderful landscaping. Various plants were planted in harmony.
I was surprised to discover that it was a lot quieter than I had anticipated, given that I was in a city with several buildings.
As soon as you enter Sarangchae, a large Alocasia will be visible.
Because of its immensity, the green fills the room. In addition, it wonderfully matches the green sofa that is positioned next to it.
Books are also available
Bedroom
The bedroom was so nice that I was able to sleep well.
Even though it was late autumn and not quite winter, the air was cool when I awoke.
In Sarangchae, there is a shower booth where you can take a shower.
We ordered pizza and pasta and paired it with a glass of wine.
Coffee and Tea are available
Sleepless in Seattle
Bathroom
Restroom that looked out onto the backyard.
Relax with some music while sitting on the floor in the evening.
Good Morning :-)
Coffee, tea, fruits, and bread for breakfast
One of my favorite TV shows is [Architectural Investigation House] on the EBS channel.I always find myself wondering what life is like in a remodeled hanok. My time there was fantastic, and I had a great time.
