Sofitel Ambassador Seoul (Magnifique room, City view)
Since the hotel is close to Jamsil Subway Station, we had no trouble getting there by subway.
Sofitel Ambassador can be found a short distance from Jamsil Subway Station's Exit 10.
Since it has just opened, it is stunning from the entrance.
There was only a concierge desk and nowhere to check in on the ground floor, so I hesitated and was eventually sent to the sixth floor, where check-in was located.
Check-in 3 p.m.
Reviews had warned that check-in is always busy, but when I got there at 2:40 p.m., I was able to check in quickly and walk to my room without any hassle.
My room type was Magnifique Room, and it's located on the 23rd floor.
Magnifique Room (Floor 23)
The Magnifique room I stayed in was far larger than I had anticipated.
One king-sized bed
Both the center sofa and the artwork on the wall were generous in size.
When I went looking for a television, I discovered that it had been moved behind the gallery wall.
Minibar
Capsules for coffee and tea are also available.
Even though I was staying on the other side of the famed Seokchon Lake, I enjoyed the view out my window every day.
The front desk informed me that I could have paid extra to get a room with a view of Seokchon Lake, but the Lake can be seen beautifully from the pool and breakfast, so I decided against it.
Liked this sofa. There's also a mirror there so you may pose like a model for your photo.
Bathroom
The moment you open, you'll be immersed in luxury.
The hotel provided Diptyque bath products.
The body lotion had a pleasant scent that reminded me of quince and peach. You're welcome to use the freebie additional of up to one.
disposable products
The kit includes a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a razor.
Vidal Sassoon hair dryer
The tub was spacious and comfortable. There's also some bath salt, so it was a nice addition to the relaxing soak.
Also available from Diptyque was a shampoo and body wash.
Put your bags like this in the extra space at the front door.
I checked out the notice given to me at the front desk as I'll need to make a reservation for the pool. You must reserve the pool on busy days like Fridays or national holidays.
Fait Maison, located on the fourth floor, serves breakfast, and it is split into three different times so guests can choose one of them and visit.
Even if you arrive halfway through your time, you still have to leave by the end of your hours, so it's best to get there on time.
There's a tablet by the bed where you can make a reservation.
A swimsuit and cap are required for use of the pool, and reservations must be made online. You can get a swimming cap at the front desk for 10,000 won if you forget yours at home.
If you tap the pool menu, a QR code will pop up, scan it with your phone to make a reservation for the pool.
It would be much more convenient to book on the tablet right away, but it says to do it this way over the phone, so do as instructed.
In addition, you can close the shades, switch on the TV, or play some music with this tablet.
Requests for more supplies can be made if necessary.
Due to the pleasant weather, even the room overlooking the city was enjoyable.
