Sofitel Ambassador Seoul (Magnifique room, City view)
Thanks to its proximity to Jamsil Subway Station, getting to Sofitel Ambassador (Jamsil, Seoul) was effortless. The hotel is just a short walk from Exit 10, making it easily accessible by subway.
Since the hotel is newly opened, everything looked absolutely stunning from the moment I stepped inside.
However, I hesitated for a moment when I realized there was only a concierge desk on the ground floor and no check-in counter. A staff member quickly directed me to the sixth floor, where check-in takes place.
Check-in 3 pm
I had read reviews mentioning that check-in could be quite busy, but when I arrived at 2:40 p.m., the process was smooth and quick. Within minutes, I had my key and was on my way to my room.
Magnifique Room (Floor 23)
My room, a Magnifique Room, was located on the 23rd floor. It was far more spacious than I had anticipated, featuring a king-sized bed, a generously sized center sofa, and a stunning artwork display on the wall.
One interesting detail was the hidden television, which was tucked away behind the gallery wall. It added to the sleek and modern aesthetic of the room.
Minibar
The amenities included a coffee and tea capsule set, allowing me to enjoy a relaxing drink whenever I wanted.
Even though my room didn’t have a direct view of Seokchon Lake, I still loved the view from my window.
The front desk informed me that I could have upgraded to a lake-view room for an additional fee, but since the lake is beautifully visible from both the pool and breakfast area, I decided it wasn’t necessary.
Bathroom
The bathroom exuded luxury the moment I stepped inside. Sofitel provides Diptyque bath products, including shampoo, body wash, and lotion.
The body lotion had a delightful scent, reminiscent of quince and peach, a small but luxurious detail. Guests can even request one additional free set of toiletries.
Other thoughtful bathroom amenities included a Vidal Sassoon hairdryer, along with a toothbrush, toothpaste, and razor set.
The bathtub was spacious and incredibly comfortable, perfect for a relaxing soak. The hotel also provided bath salts, which made the experience even more indulgent.
On busy days, such as Fridays or national holidays, pool reservations are required.
Breakfast is served at Fait Maison on the fourth floor and is divided into three time slots. Guests must choose a time slot in advance, and even if they arrive late, they still need to leave by the end of their assigned session. So, it’s best to be on time to make the most of the experience.
A tablet next to the bed allowed me to reserve the pool, control the shades, turn on the TV, and even play music a convenient feature.
Reservations must be made online, and tapping the pool menu on the tablet generates a QR code to scan with your phone for booking.
To use the pool, swim caps and swimsuits are required. If you forget your swim cap, you can purchase one at the front desk for 10,000 won.
Even without a Seokchon Lake view, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, thanks to the comfortable room, excellent amenities, and pleasant city views. The overall experience at Sofitel Ambassador Seoul was one of elegance, convenience, and luxury.
