The restaurant Nokdong Bbeol Nakji in Sindang, Seoul, has once again been featured on the Seong Si-kyung's YouTube channel.

Their octopus Tangtang-i is truly one-of-a-kind. You won't find anything like it anywhere else. The octopus is finely chopped to the point where its original shape is almost unrecognizable.

I was expecting a long line since I visited on a weekend, but surprisingly, there were two seats available.

The walls were covered with autographs from various celebrities, including Sung Si-kyung himself.

I began with the Tangtang-i and later ordered the Yeonpo-tang. Admittedly, the prices are on the higher side.

San-nakji (live octopus)  25,000 won

Don’t mistake Tangtang-i for San-nakji (live octopus), they're completely different dishes.

When we ordered Tangtang-i, we were mistakenly served San-nakji instead. At first, we thought the live octopus was just another side dish.

Miscommunications like this can happen, so it’s always a good idea to double-check your order. In our case, we had to send the San-nakji back and get it replaced with the Tangtang-i we originally requested.

Exactly as I had hoped, the Octopus Tangtang-i was served, and along with it, additional side dishes were brought out.

These included seaweed, minced garlic, Cheongyang peppers, pickled radish, an egg yolk, and more.

A spoonful of Tangtang-i mixed with an egg yolk delivers a truly unique and delightful flavor, rich, savory, and absolutely delicious.

Wrapping finely chopped pickled radish, garlic, and Cheongyang peppers in roasted seaweed creates an incredible burst of taste. The combination of pickled radish and Tangtang-i was especially outstanding.

However, the star ingredient has to be the minced garlic. It ties everything together perfectly and makes the dish absolutely mouthwatering.

Yeonpo-tang  45,000 won

You should definitely order the Yeonpo-tang.

When the Yeonpo-tang is served, it comes as a clear soup, but the real highlight is when the staff brings out two live octopuses and drops them into the soup right in front of you

Whenever we enjoy this delicious Yeonpo-tang, it’s almost impossible to resist pairing it with a glass of Soju.

We added Kalguksu noodles, which were served thin, my personal favorite. Compared to thicker noodles, I find the texture and flavor of these thinner ones much more satisfying.

This is a place where you can truly taste the care and quality put into every dish. While the Tangtang-i was excellent, the Yeonpo-tang stood out as the highlight of the meal.

Overall, it’s a fantastic spot to enjoy great food and drinks, making it perfect for both dining and a night out.
