KITH (seongsu)
On Friday, I went to Seongsu-dong to get my hair done and toured some showrooms I'd wanted to visit for a long time. I’ll start with the new store KITH (Seongsu) that opened this May.
KITH which I once visited in Shibuya, Tokyo, has just opened in Seoul. Supreme and KITH stores are now within reach in Korea. If you're unfamiliar with the name, KITH stands as an American concept store for high-end lifestyle goods, a haven for street culture, and a master in collaboration.
In this post, I go over an overview of the KITH Seongsu flagship store, the brands sold there, and the Capsule collection that was launched alongside the store's first opening in Seoul.
Close to Ader Error Seongsu store, you will find KITH Seoul elegantly encased with red bricks. After Tokyo, Japan, and London, France, it is the second store in Asia and the fourth store globally.
The fact that Seongsu-dong is crowded even during the weekdays likely explains why there was a queue when I went there at about 5 p.m. on Friday.
Even though the line was very short, we still had to wait about 20 minutes to enter. This is done to ensure that customers have a pleasant shopping experience. On weekends, it would likely take more time.
1F (Fragrance, Accessory, Eyewear, Reception)
All the staff were so kind and smiley when I entered. From the moment I stepped inside, I got the impression that it was a bit fancier than the Tokyo flagship store.
Upon entering, I noticed flowers from Plants on the Shelf on the left side. Perfumes, ACC, and eyeglasses are on the opposite side.
One wall was occupied by Byredo.
And fragrances by Maison Margiela.
Some unique pieces of jewelry and Balenciaga eyewear collection.
Just a bit further inside, you'll find an area that looks like a reception. It appears like they put a lot of effort into the space's interior design.
The first floor served as a welcome area with only a few merchandise, but the atmosphere was ultra-chic and hip, like stepping into a boutique selling high-end labels.
A closet full of vinyl records.
More merchandise is on the second floor, so let's go check it out. With KITH's ornate Spanish tiles, the floor is likewise fashionable.
2F (Men, Women, Kids)
A wall full of sneakers. Brands such as Adidas and Puma, as well as New Balance, Asics, Nike, Salomon, Keen, Hoka One One Merrell, Clarks, Mihara Yasuhiro, Dr. Martens, and countless more are displayed. You can get all the latest trends there.
Both the Tokyo and Seoul locations featured an excellent selection of shoes.
Mens
A large number of items from the men's collection were available.
Clothing from Acne Studios and Jil Sander, as well as some apparel from Our Legacy, a brand that is currently trending in Korea.
CP Company & Stone Island
Women
Womens collection is located behind the wall that displays the shoes.
Many new summer collection were introduced, and the majority of the women's collection was by their own label KITH.
Pants with a unique nylon fabric, commonly found in lightweight tents.
Lovely color of pants. However, after realizing the price, I decided to put them down.
Moreover, handbags by Margesherwood, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel.
Kith apple little pouch, along with a few silver pieces and multi-colored necklaces.
Kids
The kids section is located behind the women's. If you are a parent who likes street fashion, you might want to check out here because it has a lot of clothing and shoes for kids. Shoes were categorized according to age, with separate sections for newborns, kids, and teens.
Adorable garments that would be perfect for babies.
My favorites among the children's clothing were these three.
Seoul Capsule Collection
Tees and hoodies with the Taegeuk emblem, a circular representation of the Korean flag, in a graphic design. And graphic tees featuring the Namsan Tower.
Maybe it was because expectations were high, or many of the cool designs were already sold out, but this collection left me feeling a bit disappointed.
Jinro Capsule Collection
This jacket with a lovely color was a part of a collection honoring Jinro's 100th anniversary.
Treats
Maybe because it was a weekday, there weren't many people outside the TREATS ice cream shop. I think it'll be quite crowded on the weekend.
My schedule didn't allow me to taste the ice cream, but the empty line made me regret not trying one. After hearing how good it was, I will definetely return with my husband next weekday to try it.
It was all about KITH Seongsu and its clothing and shoe collection, as well as the own labels sold there, including the Jinro and Seoul capsule collections. After its launch, I was concerned that there would be a long line to get in, but thankfully, it wasn't quite as bad as the first opening, so everything was OK.
What Kith Seoul does next is something I can't wait to see, and I'll definitely be back if word gets out about any further collaborations with other brands.
