Artist Bakery (anguk store)

You'll spot Artist Bakery (Bukchon, Seoul) as soon as you exit Anguk Station (Exit 1). It’s hard to miss because there’s always a crowd gathered in front.

Even for takeaway, there was a line. The last time I came, we were able to walk in right away, but this time, since it was past 2 pm we had to wait for takeaway as well.

This bakery specializes in salt bread and baguettes and is a new venture from the team behind London Bagel Museum. I heard their soup is amazing, but since we were getting takeaway, we decided to skip it this time.
One great thing about this place? It’s pet-friendly! Dogs are welcome inside, which is always a plus.

The bakery offers a variety of salt bread, so I picked up both a plain salt bread and a truffle pretzel salt bread to try.

There was also a great selection of baguettes, and one of the most popular items was the fresh milk cream salt bread which looked absolutely delicious.

If you’re looking for something more filling, they also have baguette sandwiches.

Another highlight? Their selection of spreads, including jam, cream cheese, lemon custard, and more. I went with their No.1 Cream Cheese, which seemed like a bestseller.

The store’s interior is beautifully decorated, making it a treat for the eyes as well as the taste buds. They even have a guidebook inside that explains the different types of bread and cream cheese.
The plain salt bread was a bit on the oily side for me, probably because of the generous amount of butter. However, I absolutely loved the truffle pretzel salt bread for its soft, tender texture.
If you’re a fan of salt bread, baguettes, or just charming bakeries in general, Artist Bakery is definitely worth a visit!
