Delphic (anguk store)
Delphic (Anguk location), offers a wide selection of teas and delicious desserts. This spot was my first choice for a cup of tea and delicious sweets in downtown Seoul.
No coffees, but you can try a variety of teas here. If you're searching for a teahouse with desserts near Anguk Station, I highly recommend it! They have a wide variety of desserts that go well with tea.
The exterior of the Delphic was really stunning. In Korea, you can find three locations of Delphic: Dosan, Anguk, and Jeju Island.
It is approximately a 10-minute walk from Anguk subway station. It is immediately visible as you ascend the alley to the Cafe Shinora (bukchon).
The first floor is a gallery, while the teahouse occupies the second floor! The teahouse can be found on the second floor.
They had both indoor and outdoor seating, including a bar table inside that could seat around sixteen people. The café is spacious, and there are displays of plates and ceramics, so it's fun to look around. Later on, when the weather is nicer, I'd want to sit outdoors.
Ceramic artisans from Korea are the primary focus of the gallery. You can also buy them in the store or on their official website.
Menu
Besides original tea; Matcha lattes, milk teas, ade, and kombucha are also available, with prices starting at 7,500 won. Black sesame tart, terrine, scones, panna cotta, gelato, and dacquoise are some dessert options!
The manager told us that we were welcome to see and touch the ceramics up close.
Now, all I had to do was take a seat at the bar, order my menu, pay, and then wait for my tea. It takes almost 10 minutes for the menu to come out because the tea needs to be brewed, so it's not ideal for people who are impatient.
Watching the tea brew right in front of our eyes was a pleasant touch. You can notice the different designs on the ceramic that goes with each cup of tea.
Mili Fili (signature tea of Delphic) 9,000 won
I ordered this milk-flavored oolong tea. The creamy flavor was very mouthwatering. Millipili is a must-order if you enjoy a creamy flavor.
Fig One (signature tea) 9,000 won.
Flavorful tea with hints of fig, apple, and cocoa. I would suggest this tea to anyone who enjoys sweet flavors. I appreciated the faint aroma that lingered in my mouth as the cacao taste intensified with each sip.
It has an apple and fig flavor at first, but the chocolate flavor becomes more apparent around the midway point. I think this Fig One would be perfect for you if you tend to enjoy sweet stuff.
Hallabong Panna Cotta (Dessert of the day) 7,500 won
It was incredibly delicious, and it was my first experience with panna cotta. It felt like pudding, almost. My only regret was that I did not try any of the other sweets.
Some were having terrines, financiers, or scones. For sure when I come again! I am going to sample two sweets.
The little piece on the right side of the tea container is a pine nut appetizer.
The panna cotta plate was so beautiful that I had to look for its maker. It was from artists Geunsoo Kim and Jinseon Lee, according to the website.
Some other tea options looked like this, and I believe this is the premium tea. It is fun to see the ceramics change with each tea option.
If you're sick of the hustle and bustle of city life, a trip to peaceful Delphic for some tasty tea might be just what you need.
It has been some time since I last visited a cafe that truly suits me, and now I am completely relaxed. These days, I always feel at ease in the Bukchon and Seochon areas.
