Holang-I (seochon store)
Holang-I (Tiger) Coffee, known for its tasty lattes in Euljiro (city center), has now opened up in Seochon.
We thought the opening time was 12 pm even on weekends, but when we got there, they said it actually opens at 1 pm. They kindly offered to let us wait inside, but knowing it might be a bother, we decided to explore other places and came back at the right time.
As a café famous for its lattes, the Seochon location doesn’t feature the name ‘Horangi’ (Tiger) but instead simply displays the word ‘Latte'.
The interior gave off a vibe of a cave or a secret hideout. The small space had walls made of intriguing materials, and as soon as I stepped in, a distinctive scent filled the entire store.
It turns out the unique walls are made of ‘Hempcrete,’ a type of concrete made from hemp hurds. It’s an eco-friendly material that absorbs carbon. No wonder the scent was so unusual. At first, it was a bit unfamiliar, but the longer I stayed in the café, the more refreshing it felt, and I got used to it pretty quickly.
A pretty impressive bar space and a barista who seemed completely immersed in it.
The strawberry sandwich looked so cute and delicious, but unfortunately, it’s not available here at the Seochon location.
There were tiger pencils on the wall, too. They said we could take them as a gift, so we each took one.

The classic Horangi Latte is made with blended beans, creating a nutty, creamy flavor. I’ve had it before, and it’s just as delicious as I remembered.
The combination of the milk’s sweetness and the nutty notes from the beans is absolutely perfect. I think I’ve only tried it iced before, but this time, the warm version was just as amazing.
The Horangi Single Latte was made with Ethiopian single-origin beans. It had a lighter feel compared to the classic Horangi Latte, with a fragrant and clean taste that I absolutely loved.
And of course, I couldn’t leave without grabbing the adorable Horangi stickers and the black tiger pencil as a keepsake.
We were also watching the barista skillfully brew filter coffee while enjoying our drinks. And luckily, he served us a cup of Ethiopian single-origin brew coffee (iced).
Both the latte and the brewing were incredibly delicious.
As for the Americano, it came in a lovely to-go cup, warm and just as tasty.
The Horang-I at Seochon had a completely different vibe from Euljiro. The unique interior and hempcrete made the air feel so refreshing, and it was a fascinating experience.
And of course, the coffee was still as amazing as ever. While I did miss the fruit sandwich, this place is such a great spot for coffee that it was more than enough to just enjoy the drinks. I was completely happy.
