Kokkili Bagel (seongu-dong)

Kokkili Bagel (seongu-dong)

One of the reasons I love Kokkili Bagel in Seongsu is their early opening hours.

If you're up and about on the weekend, you can start your day slowly with a warm bagel and a cup of coffee at this peaceful Seongsu café.

It all started when I visited Seoul with my friend's couple to try the famous London Bagel Museum. But we ended up at the Hannam branch of Kokkili Bagel, and I completely fell for the chewy texture. Since then, it’s become my number one bagel spot in Korea.

For reference, Seongsu is the third branch. The original store is in Yeongdeungpo, and the second one is in Hannam. I keep coming back to the Seongsu branch not just because it’s easy to get to, but also because the spacious second floor makes it perfect for dine-in.

Stepping into Kokkili Bagel’s Seongsu location, you're greeted by an inviting display of draft beer options near the entrance.

A variety of drinks, sandwiches, stews, and cream cheeses are on the menu.

We arrived right at opening on the weekend, and fresh bagels were already coming out nonstop from the stone oven.

Bagel Menu

There are plenty of great bagel spots in Seoul, but let me tell you why Kokkiri Bagel stands out.

First, the bagels themselves are incredibly flavorful. Baked in a stone oven, they have this amazing contrast. Crispy on the outside, soft and delightfully chewy inside.

I usually stick to my go-to bagel choices, but at Kokkili Bagel, I always find myself tempted to try something new; everything just looks so good.

Here are some of my personal favorites from Kokkiri Bagel:
I highly recommend the Salty Choco, Butter Salt, Olive, and of course, you can’t go wrong with the classic Plain.

They also offer sandwiches like Dirty Pork, Ham & Cheese, Salmon, and Jamón, but I’ve never really been drawn to them. If I had to recommend one, it would be the Fig Compote sandwich; that one’s a winner.

I never really felt the need for cream cheese before, but this time I noticed they have a special one called “Quescrem.” Next time, I’m definitely trying it with my bagel.

Since I had a packed day planned in Seongsu, I picked just a few of my favorite bagels for a light start. The Onion Mayo and Sun-Dried Tomato bagels were a pleasant surprise, even better than I expected. And the Butter Salt? Always delicious, every single time.

Kokkiri Bagel is one of those places, short visits, but always memorable.
It’s become my go-to spot to kick off any trip to Seoul, and next time will be no different. I’ll be starting my day with a bagel here again.
