Kokkili Bagel (seongu-dong)
If you're looking for the best bagels in Seoul, Kokkili (elephant) Bagel is is hands down my favorite spot in town.
The third branch, located in Seongsu-dong, is just as fantastic as the other two locations I’ve visited. To get there from Seongsu Station, take Exit 2, follow the Onion Cafe, and turn right at Glow Cafe.
In the spring, you can enjoy your bagel while sitting in the spacious outdoor area, making for a lovely experience.
The Seongsu-dong store is by far the largest of the three. It’s open and inviting, providing plenty of space to relax.
When you enter, you’ll find the bagel counter on the left and the drink counter to the right. And yes, they also serve beer, so feel free to pair your bagel sandwich with one of their many craft or bottled beers.
Depending on your mood, you can choose to relax on the ground floor or head up to the second floor for a slightly different vibe. Both levels offer a unique atmosphere, and the seating is generously spaced for a comfortable experience.
Bagels
Personally, I’m a fan of both the plain and walnut-cranberry bagels, but my absolute favorite is the red bean paste bagel. The rich, natural flavor of the red beans really shines through.
Kokkili Bagel offers a wide variety of combinations, from spinach and basil to truffle cheese. With so many options, you’ll likely find a bagel you’ve never tasted before. Trust me, these bagels are unlike any others you’ve had.
A local favorite is their whipped cream bagel, which is a must-try. The fluffy bagel filled with whipped cream pairs beautifully with a frothy latte.
2F
The second floor has a relaxed vibe where you can sit on comfy sofas and enjoy the view outside. The seating arrangement is spacious, making it fun to explore the different atmospheres throughout the café.
Plain Bagel 2.500 won
The plain bagel here is incredibly chewy and full of flavor. It’s freshly baked, dense, and perfect for anyone craving a classic bagel. I had trouble finding plain bagels at other locations, but at the Seongsu-dong branch, I scored five of them at around 10:30 am! It was worth the wait.
Redbean Paste Bagel 4.000 won
The red bean paste bagel is a must for anyone who loves sweet red beans. The beans aren’t overly sweet, which I appreciate. There’s a generous amount of red bean paste in each bagel, making it one of the best red bean paste bagels I’ve ever had.
Just be warned, if you linger too long, you might end up spending more than you planned, like I did! But trust me, it’s totally worth it.
