Numerous stylish and contemporary cafes are springing up in the Seochon district. I visited the recently opened Maison Ouvert Seoul in the neighborhood. This is their fifth cafe in the city.

Maison Ouvert is located in a renovated old house just to the left of the Nuha-dong intersection. Popular eateries like Goatt Deli and Nachbar are close by.

Upon entering, you will immediately notice the croissants and baguettes. Ouvert Seoul, another location in the same Seochon neighborhood, has a far smaller selection of breads.

Ouvert Seoul has two stores in Seochon; to keep things straight, let’s call one Ouvert Seoul (Seochon store) and another Maison Ouvert (Nuha store).

Considering how much everything is costing these days, I don't think 4,000-5,000 won for one bread is too much.

It looked like a tasty combo of ham and asparagus. However, I chose to try it next time since I arrived after lunch.

Compared to the Seochon location, the coffee menu is more limited.

While the Seochon location offers a wide selection of specialty beverages including coffee, the Nuha location (Maison Ouvert) here serves primarily coffee with one non-caffeinated option, Royal Milk Tea.

The seating areas are located on the second and third floors, while the first floor is where you place your order. Specifically, the interior design of the second and third levels stood out, because they preserved the look and feel of the original house.

These old, shaky stairs will lead you to the third level.

On the third floor, you'll notice a lattice ceiling and a piano whose front has been ripped off!

You can experience these unique things every time you visit Maison Ouvert (Nuha). To be honest, I'm wondering which designer could try such a daring and innovative interior design.

The coffee was wonderful. You can get one free refill of Americano coffee.

​Visit the Maison Ouvert (Nuha location) if you're looking to try a range of bakeries. But if you're looking to try a variety of coffees, the Ouvert Seoul (Seochon location) is the place to go.

This is the place to go if you appreciate exploring trendy and modern cafes. Also a perfect spot for relaxing over lunchtime.
