Myeongdong is filled with countless hotels, but when it comes to accessibility, facilities, and value for money, only a select few consistently receive great reviews.

This time, I spent a night at the Aloft (Myeongdong, Seoul) Hotel, and it was perfect in every way.

The location couldn’t be better, step out of the hotel, and you’re immediately immersed in the vibrant streets of Myeongdong. From shopping to street food, everything is right at your doorstep.

Even with the hustle and bustle outside, my stay was incredibly comfortable. The rooms were spotless, and every detail was thoughtfully arranged, making it easy to relax and unwind.

If you’ve ever walked around Myeongdong or Euljiro 4-ga Station, you’ve probably seen the entrance to the Aloft Hotel. I’ve passed by it countless times, and finally, I had the chance to step inside as a guest.

As a 4-star hotel, Aloft Seoul Myeongdong offers excellent facilities, including a restaurant, lounge bar, coin laundry, and a fitness center, everything you need for a comfortable stay.

 

Urban Suite Room

I stayed in an Urban Suite, and the contemporary space was perfect for both relaxation and productivity.

The comfortable couch was ideal for curling up with a book or simply unwinding after a day of exploring. The neatly spread blankets and well-made bed made it hard to resist jumping right in for a nap!

A small desk area provided a convenient workspace, and I even managed to finish and post a blog entry over a cup of coffee before checking out.

The room also offered a variety of teas and coffee capsules, with more available upon request from the front desk, a nice touch for coffee lovers like me.

Unlike the bedroom and living area, the bathroom was surprisingly spacious, a pleasant surprise.

Due to updated environmental policies, the hotel now provides only essential amenities, but the cleanliness of the bathroom more than made up for it. A spotless bathroom always leaves a lasting impression on me, and Aloft exceeded my expectations here.

The view from my room showcased the bustling Myeongdong business district, with notable landmarks like the Bank of Korea building standing tall among the skyscrapers.

 

W XYZ Bar

On the second floor, the hotel features the trendy W XYZ Bar & Lounge, known for its nightclub vibe. Although I didn’t get a chance to visit this time, it seems like a fun spot for evening drinks.

One of the best parts of staying at Aloft is its proximity to Lotte and Shinsegae department stores.

We headed over to the Lotte Department Store food court to grab some delicious treats: fresh sashimi paired with ice-cold beer. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and juicy, and we couldn’t resist adding some yubu (fried tofu) sushi on the side, absolutely delicious!

 

From its unbeatable location and modern facilities to its clean, cozy rooms and easy access to Myeongdong’s top attractions, the Aloft Seoul Myeongdong exceeded all my expectations.

It’s undoubtedly my favorite 4-star hotel in Seoul, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect place to stay in Myeongdong.
