Angilsaga
Nestled in a quiet alley near Anguk Station, Angilsaga (Bukchon, Seoul) Guesthouse offers a serene retreat in the heart of Bukchon Hanok Village. We made a special effort to book this charming place because a dear friend was finally returning to Seoul after a long time away.
The moment I stepped inside, I was blown away by the stunning atmosphere. The traditional roof tiles set against the clear sky created a picture-perfect scene.
Kitchen
Living room
One of the first things that caught my eye was the step-down living area, which added an elegant touch to the space. The way the floor was lowered to visually divide the room was a creative and well-executed design choice.
Tea ceremony area
Bedroom
The guesthouse comfortably accommodates up to four guests, featuring two double beds with plush bedding.
Bathroom
The sink was located outside the bathroom, with the shower and toilet separated, a practical layout for shared use. The bathroom itself was spotless and even featured a bidet, along with complimentary body wash, conditioner, and shampoo.
A beam projector for Netflix and music streaming
Open-air Bath
One of the biggest highlights was the open-air bath. Before heading out for dinner, I turned on the water, and by the time we returned, it was nearly full.
Start filling it as soon as you check in, since hot water flows more slowly at higher temperatures.
As night fell, the bath looked absolutely magical under the warm lighting. After chatting and taking pictures, we moved inside for some late-night snacks and Netflix.
A Dyson hair dryer for a touch of luxury
Food Delivery
Staying in Bukchon Hanok Village means being surrounded by quaint shops, cafés, and cultural spots. We wandered through the neighborhood, enjoying the sights, before deciding on dinner.
Instead of dining out, we ordered chicken feet and tripe for delivery, as the restaurants in the area were on the pricier side with smaller portions. It was the perfect comfort food for a relaxing night in.
After a peaceful night’s sleep on the soft mattress, I woke up to a lovely view. It was the perfect way to start the day.
Since it was Monday but we all had the day off, we took our time sipping morning tea, chatting, and enjoying each other’s company. One of my friends, who always wears the ring we bought together, reminded me of how meaningful this trip was.
Our one-night stay at Angilsaga Guesthouse was filled with stunning moments and lasting memories. If you’re planning a visit to Bukchon, I highly recommend spending at least two nights to fully soak in the experience.
