Conrad Seoul (Premium riverview, King bed)
It was a lovely April Friday in Yeouido Seoul when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. I went to the Conrad Hotel after viewing the cherry blossom festival. The Conrad Seoul has a bit later check-in time than most other hotels.
Check-in 16:00 / Check-out 11:00
Premium Riverview (King bed)
Our room was on the 33rd floor. I was anticipating the nice view from the upper floors.
The warmth from the sun and the lights greeted me as I walked into the room.
The first thing I did was head to the nearest window to take in the scenery. No haze or fine dust to be seen in the sky. I was so happy.
I woke up with an alarm in the morning to see the sun rising over the Han River.
The bed linens were spotless.
It was enjoyable to pick from the many available coffee capsules.
The same Dyson hairdryer that I have at home.
Two robes hang next to each other in the closet, and there is also a safe, a pair of slippers, and an iron.
The bathroom was also quite roomy. A TV-equipped bathtub was also included.
Byredo (Bathroom amenities)
Molton Brown and Byredo are two of my favorite brands.
You can use any of the many available towels, razors, toothbrushes, etc., at no cost.
Knowing in advance that there would be a bathtub, I stopped into the Lush store in the IFC Mall to pick up a bath bomb and a bubble bar.
The Conrad Seoul also offers bath salts upon request.
There's a TV in the bathroom, but it'll be tough to watch while you soak in the tub.
Fitness Center
The 24-hour gym at the Conrad Hotel rents out workout clothes and socks for free, and sneakers for 5,000 won.
The river views from the treadmill and other cardio machines made me feel like I was working out in the great outdoors.
The stretching area also had foam rollers and workout balls.
The gym has Technogym equipment. And the fridge was stocked with water bottles, so I could readily replenish my fluids mid-workout.
Zest (Breakfast)
The Zest Restaurant on the second floor serves breakfast.
People who have to commute to nearby offices can still have time for breakfast there, as it is open from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Between 8 and 9 in the morning is the busiest time.
Being a five-star hotel, the buffet was well organized and offered a wide variety of high-quality dishes.
Rice noodles
To be honest, the noodles let me down a bit. Maybe it's because traveling Southeast Asia is one of my favorite destinations that I prefer authentic native flavors to Koreanized rice noodles.
Salad
Even though I'm a meat lover, the first thing I grab at the breakfast buffet is always salad.
Korean Cuisine
You may find delicious Korean cuisine at the hotel buffets in Korea.
After roughly five days away from home, I usually begin to miss Korean cuisine. Since I'm Korean, Korean food is my favorite of all the great meals out there.
There was a wide selection of cereals, but there were so many other delicious options that I couldn't bring myself to eat cereal.
Egg station
Scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, and soft-boiled eggs are all delicious options.
Good yogurt and seasonal fruits.
There was a lot of tasty food at the Conrad Breakfast buffet, but I wasn't able to photograph it all. The quality of the cuisine was superb.
