Ibis Styles Ambassador, Yongsan (Double, Superior)

Ibis Styles Ambassador, Yongsan (Double, Superior)

Even though I visit Seoul fairly often, each trip always feels like it's been ages since my last visit. On this trip, since I was short on time, I decided to stay local and explore restaurants and cafés around Yongsan District.

When it comes to accommodations in Yongsan, the first place that comes to mind is Seoul Dragon City, which houses four hotels: Novotel Ambassador, Novotel Suites Ambassador, Grand Mercure Ambassador, and Ibis Styles Ambassador.

Since I planned to spend most of my time outside, I chose the most budget-friendly option, the Ibis Styles Ambassador Yongsan.

From Yongsan Station Exit 3, you can walk directly into Seoul Dragon City, making it incredibly convenient.

The Ibis Styles Ambassador Yongsan has a 3:00 pm check-in time, but since I arrived in the morning, I left my luggage at the front desk and decided to relax in the lobby.

A 24-hour convenience store on the second floor of the hotel made grabbing snacks and essentials super easy.

Ibis Styles has its own set of elevators, but since four hotels share the same building, the elevators can get crowded, especially on weekends, due to weddings and events.

Be sure to take the correct elevator designated for your hotel, as each one serves different floors.

Superior Double (28F)

I requested a high floor on the opposite side of the construction site to avoid blocked views, and I was thrilled with my room on the 28th floor!

I had always associated the Ibis brand with small, budget hotels, but the room was surprisingly spacious and comfortable, far beyond my expectations.

The first thing I did upon entering was rush to the window to take in the view of the Seoul skyline and the beautiful mountain backdrop.

The desk by the window came with a built-in charging station, making it easy to work or charge devices while enjoying the view.

The bed was comfortable, and I had a restful sleep. However, the only disappointment was the odd decoration above the bed, which felt a bit out of place.

Bathroom

Behind the mirror I found eight hangers, room slippers, and a shoehorn.

Toothpaste and toothbrushes are not included, so be sure to bring your own.

At night, with the city lights and the iconic Namsan Tower in the distance.

Since I was attending a wedding in the afternoon (and would be eating there), I decided to skip breakfast this time.

Before leaving, I snapped a photo with the Seoul Dragon City mascot doll, which is popular for photos.

One of the best things about Ibis Styles Ambassador Yongsan is its prime location, with easy access to Yongsan Station (directly connected), Samgakji, and Yongridan-gil, known for its trendy restaurants and cafés.

Seoul Dragon City offers something for every budget, and Ibis Styles is a great option for travelers who want modern amenities, a great location, and value for money.
