Ibis Styles Ambassador, Yongsan (Double, Superior)
Even though I visit Seoul fairly frequently, each visit always feels like a long time has passed. Since I didn't have much time on this trip, I chose to just hang around and enjoy local restaurants around Yongsan District.
Seoul Dragon City is the first spot that comes to mind when considering where to stay in Yongsan. There are a total of four hotels in the area, including the Novotel Ambassador, Novotel Suites Ambassador, Grand Mercure Ambassador, and Ibis Styles Ambassador.
I chose the lowest option, the Ibis Styles Ambassador, because I plan to spend most of my time outside.
This sculpture from Dragon City is far larger than I remembered from the photographs I've seen.
Exit 3 of Yongsan Station will lead you directly to Seoul Dragon City.
On the second floor of the Ibis Hotel is a 24-hour convenience store, making it very easy to grab something whenever you need it.
The Ibis Style Ambassador Yongsan Hotel has a 3 o'clock check-in time. I got into Seoul in the morning before check-in time, so I left my bags at the front desk.
It was convenient to wait in the lobby on one of the many soft sofas.
There is an elevator for Ibis Style Ambassador guests in the very back corner of the lobby. There are a total of 8 elevators, however, they're usually busy on Saturday and Sunday mornings due to weddings.
Because there are four hotels in the area, it may be difficult to get to your room unless you take the appropriate elevator.
Superior Double (28F)
The 28th floor was where I was staying. Since construction is blocking the view of the Han River, I specifically requested a high level on the opposite side of the hotel and was therefore quite pleased with my accommodations.
When I first heard of the brand "Ibis", I thought of a small, cheap hotel, but I realized I was wrong with the spacious rooms in Ibis Yongsan.
As soon as I walked in, I made my way to the window to take in the sight of the towering cityscape and the stunning backdrop of mountains.
There is a convenient charging station at the desk by the window.
A comfortable bed is necessary for restful sleep. Everything was fine, but it was a letdown that the wall above the bed had that kind of decoration.
Bathroom
There is a blind above the washstand, so when you pull it down, it separates from the bedroom.
When you open the mirror, you can find up to eight hangers, room slippers, and a shoehorn.
There are two water bottles in the fridge, as well as extra towels. Everything is available except for single-use items like toothpaste and toothbrushes.
The toilet and shower stall were separated.
The sky is normally cloudy when I travel, but lately, I've been seeing a lot of beautiful blue skies!
The night vista of the city and Namsan Tower at night.
I wasn't sure if I wanted breakfast, so I went downstairs to look around; wow, what a sophisticated ambiance.
It was so quiet when I got there at 7:30. I decided to skip breakfast because I was attending a wedding in the afternoon and would have a meal there.
I took one last picture with the Dragon City doll. It's quite popular so you'll have to wait in line.
There are numerous popular restaurants and cafés near Yongsan, Samgakji, and Yongridan-gil, therefore the location of the hotel is perfect!
