Hanok Essay Seochon
Nestled in the charming neighborhood of Seochon (Seoul), Hanok Essay offers a tranquil and picturesque retreat. When I posted a photo from my stay, even friends I hadn’t spoken to in ages reached out, curious about this stunning place.
Every corner of Hanok Essay Seochon is a photographer’s dream, making it the perfect getaway for those seeking a peaceful escape in a traditional Korean house.
As you step inside, you’ll find yourself in a small floor area just beyond the entrance hall, leading to a cozy stove, perfect for a warm, intimate evening by the fire.
One of the highlights of this stay is the bathtub with an outdoor deck. With the window opening directly onto the yard, the space feels airy and refreshing. Whether it's a breezy summer evening or a crisp winter night, this spot is pure magic.
Bedroom
The hotel-provided pajamas perfectly matched the aesthetic of the space, making my stay even more enjoyable. The bed was so comfortable that I didn’t want to get up

As you enter through the front gate, you’re greeted by a beautiful yard.

Stove
Upon stepping inside, I was welcomed by a stove, chairs, and a minimalist kitchen wall. The entire space was filled with a pleasant aroma, adding to the cozy atmosphere.
Room shoes
Although room slippers were provided, I found it more comfortable to go barefoot, fully embracing the warm wooden floors.
One of the standout features is the large window overlooking the yard, offering an uninterrupted view of traditional hanok roof tiles. It felt like a hidden sanctuary in the middle of Seoul.

The bedroom and kitchen share the same open space, but lying down on the bed gave me a clear view of the yard, making it even more comfortable than I expected.
The duvet was warm and plush, and the bed was so spacious and cozy that we both slept exceptionally well.

After my bath, I sat in front of the fire, enjoying the quiet and warmth. Whether it's raining or snowing, the stove adds an extra layer of comfort while keeping you connected to nature.
The kitchen is small but fully equipped, perfect for preparing light meals. A central table with chairs facing the yard made for a lovely dining spot.
