Lotte Hotel Seoul (Superior Twin Room)
Over the Lunar New Year, I stayed at the Lotte Hotel Seoul, and here is my review of that experience. I booked the hotel two months in advance using the Lotte Hotel app for a family staycation.
To get to the hotel, we took a car. Despite having separate entrances on the ground level, the parking lot for the hotel and the nearby department store are connected below. The hotel parking lot was far more convenient to enter than the nearby department store's parking lot.
Lobby
What the lobby looks like. This time I reserved two rooms at once, and mobile check-in was not an option. However, if you book just one room through the Lotte Hotel app, you can use your mobile device to check in as early as 9:00 AM on the day of your arrival.
We were assigned the 21st floor. The elevator's ceiling was antique, and the 21st-floor corridor was simple but elegant.
I was given two rooms that are located next to one another.
Superior Twin Room
The space between the couch and the bed appeared to be very tight.
Room conveniences
Bathroom
The bathroom is dated, but it has a pleasant, classic ambiance. Everything is set up except for a toothbrush and toothpaste.
Opening the curtains reveals a clear view of Namsan Tower. The clear sky made everything look nicer.
Nampa Go-taek
After lounging around, we headed to the 13th floor of the Lotte Department Store to dine at Nampa Go-taek. It was easy to get around since the hotel was connected to the food court in the basement of the Lotte Department Store, too.
Myeongdong Cathedral
Soon after dinner, I departed the department store and walked to the nearby Myeongdong Cathedral.
I picked up tart from the Lotte Department Store's food hall on the way back. The sweet pumpkin cheese tart was my personal favorite.
View of Namsan Tower at night as seen from the room.
The room's morning vista. I got up at 7:30 a.m. since I knew the breakfast place I go would be packed by 8:00 a.m.
La Seine (breakfast)
You can see that it wasn't very packed when I went to La Seine on the ground floor at 8:00 in the morning.
As it was the Lunar New Year, there was rice cake soup in addition to the regular Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Western, and dessert offerings.
The coffee and bread were excellent, and I enjoyed the rest of the food as well. I ordered a latte, and it was so creamy and satisfying that I ended up drinking two of them.
I took this photo of the frozen waterfall on the way back to my room from breakfast.
I returned to my room and opened the curtains to have a clear view of Namsan Tower.
Located in the heart of Myeong-dong, with easy access via car, metro, and bus, and directly linked to a large department store, the Lotte Hotel Seoul appears to have met the needs of its visitors. The room was fine, the staff was kind, and the breakfast was adequate. I hope to return to this place again soon.
