Bomulseom Kimbap
Whenever I visit Mangwon Market, I always make sure to stop by Bomulseom Kimbap, a Kimbap joint that has vegetarian options. (Although I am not a vegetarian..)
Just a short distance after exiting Mangwon Market, on the left, you'll see Bomulseom Kimbap.
Menu
Bomulseom Gimbap 4,000 won / Ddangcho (chilli pepper) Gimbap 4,000 won
The many types of kimbap can be easily identified with those stickers.
Right after I placed my order, they wrapped up the Ddangcho (chili pepper) kimbap first,
and then the Bomulseom kimbap with fried tofu and burdock root (veggie).
The kimbap with the sticker is the Bomulseom, and the one without is the Ddangcho (chili pepper) kimbap. Since there is no seating, takeout is the only option.

What makes it so tasty is that it is wrapped in warm rice immediately after placing the order. I love how perfectly the rice was seasoned.
It has the perfect amount of rice, is evenly spread out, has the proper combination of ingredients, and has the perfect amount of flavor. Minimizing other side items like radish, carrot, and egg allows the fried tofu and burdock root to shine through.

I got the spicy chili pepper kimbap as I enjoy food with a kick. Two slices of ham were added to it along with the chili peppers. The spicy chili kimbap here tastes a bit lighter than other locations because the flavor isn't too strong.
The weather was super hot, so I grabbed a bite on the street and then headed home to finish up the rest.

The sizes of the two are pretty much the same.
Honestly, I love having kimbap with Soju (Korean alcohol), but today I tried it with sparkling wine and it was a great combo. Maybe it's because the kimbap is super tasty.
As a kimbap lover, I feel like kimbap is one of those foods that’s tough to mess up, but it’s also not something that blows your mind with flavor.
You know, the stuff that really changes the taste at different kimbap locations is usually the rice texture and how strong the seasoning is. But Bomulseom Kimbap in Mangwon-dong was perfect in both of these! This kimbap is super tasty!
Not sure if it’s just today, but there was something about the warm rice that made it seem like I had just cooked it at home. I found the Bomulseom Kimbap tastier than the Ddangcho Kimbap with chili pepper.
Bomulseom Kimbap is an absolute must-visit for me whenever I'm in Mangwon Market.
