Cheonha Bossam
Some of my Japanese friends recently visited Korea, and we initially planned to try a famous Bossam restaurant in Euljiro. However, after hearing about the notoriously long lines, we decided to pivot and head too Cheonha Bossam (Bukchon, Seoul), conveniently located near Anguk Station.

I found this restaurant through a quick search, drawn in by its great reviews and tempting food photos.
My friends, seasoned Korea travelers with over 30 visits, were eager to experience a place frequented by locals rather than the usual tourist haunts.
Cheonha Bossam had that authentic, homey vibe that fit the bill perfectly.

Menu

The restaurant’s ambiance was simple and inviting, with an entire section of the wall adorned with autographs from K-drama stars.
My friends were especially thrilled to spot a signature from Jeon Jae-joon, a star of the Netflix hit The Glory. It added a bit of charm and excitement to our dining experience.
Despite the restaurant’s popularity, we were lucky to get seated quickly, arriving at around 6 pm. This seems to be a good time to visit, as it coincides with a lull between early diners finishing their meals and the next wave of guests arriving.
Bossam Jungsik 15,000 won (per serving)

We ordered the Bossam Jungsik, priced at a reasonable 15,000 won (per serving).
The meal included juicy pork slices served with flavorful kimchi, and to our delight, each portion also came with Doenjang-Jjigae (soybean paste stew).

The pork was beautifully arranged, with a perfect balance of fatty, juicy pieces on top and lean cuts underneath. Paired with the crunchy, mildly spicy kimchi, the flavors were absolutely mouthwatering.

Despite my initial concerns, my Japanese friends loved the kimchi, finding it both crunchy and delicious.
The meal was so satisfying that my friends couldn’t resist snapping photos and immediately posting them on Instagram.

Cheonha Bossam’s reasonable prices, cozy vibe, and excellent food make it a great spot for casual dinners with friends. Its location near Changdeokgung Palace and Anguk Station adds to its appeal, making it easy to incorporate into a day of exploring Seoul.
