Eulji sujebi
An eatery in Euljiro 3-ga called Eulji Sujebi that I recently found out about.
Spring appeared like it was around the corner, but the weather dropped again. This past week, as the temperature dropped unexpectedly, the thought of Sujebi (hand-pulled dough soup) for lunch popped into my head.
It appears at the top of my search results for Sujebi eatery in the Euljiro 3-ga area, so I went there and enjoyed the food a lot.
Even though it was close to Exit 8 of Euljiro 3-ga Station, it was not easy to find.
The inside of Eulji Sujebi exudes the charm of a rustic home. The inside is roomy, but it was already full of diners when we arrived.
Menu
Delicious restaurants, as you know, have quite limited menu options.
They also serve Kong guksu (cold bean noodles) and Yeolmu guksu (young radish noodles) which are my favorite summertime dishes. Nevertheless, my workplace is quite a distance away from this location. Despite the distance, I think I'll walk here because this place is so delicious.
Side dish
Serving not one but two varieties of kimchi is the nicest thing about this restaurant. As a side dish, I enjoy Jjangajji (Kimchi, pickles, etc.).
These taste just like homemade, with a burst of freshness. Since the Yeolmu (young summer radish) was so tangy and tasty, I can imagine how good the Yeolmu noodles and Yeolmu bibimbap would taste here.
Sujebi (hand-pulled dough soup) 9,000 won x 2
This is how Sujebi is served; it comes out in a large bowl (jar). Whenever I order one bowl of Sujebi, I often can't eat it all by myself. But it's great that it comes in a big bowl so we can all share it.
Kimchi Jeon 11,000 won
Each kimchi pancake is served with two generous pieces.
Large oysters, shrimp, zucchini, and carrots accompanied the soup, along with a hand-pulled Sujebi. No soup recipe is complete without a thick and flavorful broth, and this one didn't disappoint.
With the perfect amount of pepper, the seafood broth becomes incredibly flavorful and velvety smooth. The dish is absolutely mouthwatering. This flavor is perfect for an evening with a makgeolli (Korean alcoholic drink).
Oyster lovers will love it because of the enormous serving size and abundance of oysters in this dish. It goes wonderfully with kimchi.
Even though the kimchi pancake only has an average flavor, the huge serving size makes it seem like the 11,000 won was well spent, and it pairs nicely with Sujebi.
This was way too much food for just the two. For a party of three, it's recommended to get two Sujebi and one Jeon.
On my second visit,
Extra Gamja Jeon (potato pancakes) were ordered since I visited with five coworkers today.
You can get a half-and-half order, which would be one pancake with kimchi and one with potato. Quite thick, almost pancake-like.
Sujebi and two varieties of kimchi, both of which were excellent as always. All the personnel were happy with the great cuisine, which made me feel proud.
During lunchtime, the Euljiro 3-ga area is consistently bustling with office workers.
This restaurant is perfect for busy office workers looking for an inexpensive lunch spot with plenty of seating. Eulji sujebi comes highly recommended by me because it is difficult to find tasty food in Seoul for less than 10,000 won per person.
All the staff was so kind and helpful. The soup tasted light and nice, so I'll probably be thinking about it even when the weather warms up, which means I'll be back soon.
