Godosik (Jamsil store)
Godosik (Jamsil, Seoul), located in the vibrant Songnidan-gil, is one of those barbecue gems that locals rave about. It’s no surprise that the restaurant consistently draws long lines and has been earning blue ribbons since 2019.
Known for its friendly service and impeccable grilling, it’s also a popular dating spot, adding to its charm.
From the start, the service was exceptional. The staff grills the meat for you, explains the menu, and quickly responds to even the smallest requests.
The side dishes, dipping sauces, and even the unique pufferfish-flavored salt were thoughtfully curated to elevate the meal.
Menu
Sundubu Jjigae (Soft Tofu Stew)
This complimentary appetizer was so popular among customers that it eventually made its way onto the menu. The mildly spicy stew, filled with soft tofu, egg, and tender pork, was the perfect start to the meal.
Aldeungsim (pork) 17,000 won (x 2ea)
Every table seemed to have ordered Aldeungsim, the house specialty. This pork cut lets you experience a variety of textures and flavors as it includes ribs, sirloin, pork belly, and back ribs, all in one dish!
Grilled to perfection in a cast-iron pan with green onions, the Aldeungsim was juicy, flavorful, and tender. The staff sliced it into bite-sized pieces, making it effortless to enjoy.
The pork was delightful when paired with wasabi, pufferfish salt, fish soy sauce, seasoned bean sprouts, and green onions.
Herring roe + Yukhoe (Raw beef) 17,000 won
A unique twist on traditional yukhoe, this dish featured chewy beef rib cuts instead of the usual rump. Mixed with egg yolk and herring roe, it delivered a perfectly balanced combination of saltiness and satisfying textures. The quality of the meat was evident, as it’s made with the highest-grade Korean beef.
Naengmyeon (cold noodles) 6,000 won
The Naengmyeon came generously topped with chunks of meat, making it a hearty and satisfying dish. The tangy seasoning complemented the richness of the barbecue, providing a refreshing contrast.
Yangbaek Hanwoo Chadol 19,000 won
Grilled alongside stir-fried sprouts and cabbage, the meat was juicy and flavorful with a melt-in-your-mouth texture.
From the friendly service to the flavorful dishes, Godosik lived up to its reputation as one of the best barbecue spots in Jamsil. Whether you’re a local or visiting Songnidan-gil, this place is worth the wait in line.
If it’s your first visit, the Aldeungsim is a must-try, but don’t miss the Herring Roe Yukhoe or Yangbaek Chadol either.
