Tampa
Tampa, which first opened in Yeonam-dong back in October 2015, is a spot where you can grab some tasty Cuban sandwiches. They say the name comes from Tampa, which is a port city in western Florida, USA.
In August of 2022, it moved to its present location in Apgujeong-dong. They also won first place at the International Annual Cuban Sandwich Festival in both 2017 and 2018.
Menu
Tampa Cuban sandwich 15,500 won
The Cuban is like Florida's go-to sandwich that even showed up in the movie <Chef of America>. It's got mojo roast pork, aged ham, salami, and some delicious Swiss cheese all piled on thin Cuban bread. You can customize your Cuban sandwich with extra tomatoes and jalapenos if that's your style.
The pork shoulder used to make the mojo pork had a pleasant roasted flavor, was exceptionally tender and juicy, and had its fat reduced for a wonderful texture.
Philly cheese steak 14,200 won
Philly cheese steak totally reminded me of Korean bulgogi instead of the usual American beef. (baguette, beef, onions, green peppers, American cheese)
The coleslaw was nice as well and did its thing as a veggie, and if you're feeling a bit adventurous, you can throw in some Mac N' Cheese or Deep fried Oreos to boost up the calories.
