Tuk Tuk Noodle Thai
Tuk Tuk Noodle Thai (Yeonnam-dong, Seoul) is a must-visit for fans of authentic Thai food. Known for its exceptional cuisine, the restaurant is helmed by a chef who honed their craft at a five-star hotel in Bangkok.
This dedication to quality has earned Tuk Tuk Noodle Thai the prestigious Michelin Bib Gourmand award for seven consecutive years. A badge of honor that speaks to the consistent excellence of this establishment!
If you’ve strolled through Yeonnam-dong, you’ve likely noticed the Tuk Tuk vehicle that has become synonymous with this restaurant. Located just a 15-minute walk from Hongik University Station, the restaurant’s charm begins even before you step inside.
I visited on Sunday around 12:30 pm, and there were three groups ahead of me. The waiting machine, located on the second floor near the main entrance, made the process smooth and efficient. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I was guided to the third floor dining area.
Inside
The colorful Thai-style tablecloths immediately caught my eye as I settled in. The restaurant is quite spacious, and even though the lower levels were bustling, the third floor felt open and comfortable.
A small elevator transports dishes from the kitchen to the dining floors, ensuring quick and efficient service.
Each table is equipped with a tablet for ordering, making the process seamless. Once we placed our order, dishes arrived every two to three minutes, keeping the flow of the meal steady and enjoyable.
Som Tam 13,000 won
My go-to dish at any Thai restaurant! This vibrant salad is a perfect blend of spicy, sour, and refreshing flavors, with shredded green papaya tossed in yam sauce.
Yeonnam Galbi Noodles 13,000 won
This dish features two tender, juicy king ribs served atop a bed of rice noodles. The Nuoc Mam Sauce is key. Simply pour it over the ribs and noodles, then dig in. The combination of crunchy bean sprouts, soft rice noodles, and the flavorful broth was truly outstanding. Slightly salty yet deeply satisfying, the broth tied everything together beautifully.
Pad Thai Goong 13,000 won
A classic Thai dish of stir-fried noodles topped with plump shrimp and tamarind sauce. The noodles had a slightly wet texture that paired perfectly with the egg’s richness. The fat, juicy shrimp added a luxurious touch to this staple.
The consistently high standard of flavor at Tuk Tuk Noodle Thai makes it clear why it has earned Michelin’s recognition for seven years in a row.
The wait time was shorter than I expected, especially compared to past visits, so now is the perfect time to experience this incredible Thai cuisine. If you’re in Yeonnam-dong or near Hongik University Station, don’t miss the opportunity to dine at Tuk Tuk Noodle Thai, it’s an experience worth savoring.
