I haven't had Yukhoe Bibimbap very often, but for some reason recently, I've been wanting to visit a place that serves delicious Yukhoe bibimbap.

People say that the Yukhoe bibimbap at Baekje Meat Restaurant, Yeongcheon Yeonghwa, and Daeseong-jib are some of the best in Seoul. One of the places I visited was Yeongcheon Yeonghwa.

At 5 pm on Sunday, I arrived at the Yeongcheon Yeonghwa Restaurant near Cheongdam Station. If you look it up online, you'll notice that it has been featured on several restaurant TV shows and is known as the go-to yukhoe bibimbap for celebrities.

Maybe the abundance of autographs on the wall is a result of the frequent visits by renowned people.

There are two floors in the restaurant, and I was guided to a table on the first floor. ​

There was a place inside the restaurant where meat was prepared and displayed like a butcher shop.

Autographs from famous people who stopped by, such as Son Heung-min, members of BTS, and Yoo Jae-Seok. You may even meet someone famous if you're lucky.

From the places I've been to so far, Yeongcheon Yeonghwa is the one where I've seen the most autographs from famous people.

 

Menu

Besides Yukhoe Bibimbap, there are other foods like Korean barbecue and Naengmyeon (cold noodles). Other people who have written about here say that the Hanwoo (Korean Beef) and Yukgae-jang (beef stew) are really tasty.

​I ordered one Yukhoe Bibimbap (including Doenjang-jjigae) for 21,000 won. This is the priciest of the three Yukhoe Bibimbam places we talked about above.

A mix of Lettuce, green onions, and raw beef. People say that the beef is kept in a pure protein state with all the fat taken out, which makes the yukhoe (raw beef) extremely tasty.

Fresh meat, not frozen

When you go to a cheap buffet, the Yukhoe (raw beef) is sometimes frozen, so it isn't fully thawed and can be chewy. But this fresh Yukhoe was extremely flavorful and tasty. There was no bad smell to it, and it tasted really fresh and rich.

 

Doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew)

It came with a great soybean paste stew that was also very tasty.

 

Side dish

The side dish seems to change from time to time (reading other bloggers' reviews, they were different). The kimchi was all wonderful, but the white kimchi was my favorite. If you eat this Kimchi with Yukgaejang, it will taste great together.

 

Add rice and mix well

I liked the clean taste because it wasn't mixed with red pepper paste but with soy sauce. The natural taste of the raw meat comes through more. Many people say that Yeongcheon Yukhoe Bibimbap is the best Yukhoe Bibimbap in the country, and now I know why.

I could also see why this place is so popular with Japanese tourists. As the seasoning was based on sweet soy sauce, it went really well with rice. The flavor was just right, not too much or too strong.

People who don't like sweet tastes might not like it, but overall, it's very tasty.
