Daiso (Myeongdong Station)
The Daiso with 12 stories close to Myeongdong Station.
Recently, I discovered that there is a 12-floor Daiso near Myeong-dong, Seoul and since I had to be in Euljiro for work, I decided to stop by and explore this massive store. This isn't the Myeong-dong main store, but a separate location known for its extensive variety of goods.
* Be aware that this is not the same store as the Daiso Myeong-dong main store.
Most shoppers take the elevator to the 12th floor and browse their way down floor by floor, and I soon realized this was the best way to shop efficiently. Here’s a breakdown of what I found on each floor.
12F Exercise, Camping, Travel
The top floor features fitness gear like dumbbells, yoga mats, and even leggings. There’s also a section for camping equipment, lights, ice chests, and more. Even though I’m not much of a camper, I couldn’t help but admire the variety of items they offer.
11F Hardware, Vehicles, Handicrafts
This floor has tools, car parts, and DIY supplies, making it perfect for those who enjoy working on vehicles or home projects. I passed by this floor quickly since it’s not my area of interest, but it’s definitely worth visiting for car enthusiasts.
10F Gardening, Fake Flowers, Pets
This floor was one of my favorites! They even had real flowers, which is a first for me at Daiso. The fake flowers were available in vibrant colors, and the pet section offered snacks, clothing, and toys. It made me happy to see how much attention they give to pet products these days.
9F Interior, Storage
From scented candles to storage boxes, this floor is a must-visit for home organization lovers. I especially liked the chair leg covers that look like tiny socks, such a cute and practical detail!
8F Bathroom, Cleaning, Laundry
This floor has everything you need for cleaning and laundry. I went in looking for a washing machine cleaner but, ironically, forgot to buy it. The variety of cleaning products here is impressive, but be cautious about buying too many, you might end up with unused items like I once did!
7F Tableware, Cooking utensils
This floor is a haven for those who love kitchenware. From wooden cooking tools to trendy gadgets, the selection was tempting.
6F Ceramics, Glass tableware
I couldn’t resist browsing the dishes and cups here. They have an ever-changing selection of trendy bowls and adorable cups featuring world flags.
5F Food, Disposables
This was one of the busiest floors. They stock snacks, instant ramen, curry, seaweed, and more. If you’re a fan of quick meals or unique snacks, this floor is a treasure trove.
4F Character, Children's, Party
This floor is filled with Disney, Pixar, and Marvel character goods. From Mickey Mouse to Winnie the Pooh, there’s something for everyone. You’ll also find balloons, garlands, and party decorations, perfect for celebrations.
3F Stationery, Digital, Packaging
Another bustling floor, this one caters to stationery enthusiasts. There’s a wide variety of stickers, masking tapes, and notebooks that are especially popular among women. I adore these as well and couldn’t resist adding a few items to my cart.
2F Beauty, Fashion, Accessories
This floor features beauty products and fashion accessories. I noticed nail care items and was inspired to book an appointment to refresh my nails. With spring approaching, it’s the perfect time to try something new.
1F Seasonal products, Checkout counter
The ground floor has seasonal items, dolls, and gardening supplies, along with the checkout counters. It’s a nice way to wrap up the shopping experience.
The Daiso near Myeong-dong Station is said to be the second-largest Daiso in Korea, with the largest being in Banpo’s Central City Terminal. While the category-based floor layout is helpful, the constant up-and-down movement can get tiring.
That said, the store offers an incredible variety of products, and the experience is worth it at least once, especially if you enjoy shopping for budget-friendly yet high-quality items.
