Nonfiction (samcheong store)
It had been ages since I last visited Samcheong-dong, a place I used to frequent but hadn’t been to in a while due to my changing routines. This time, I decided to enjoy the autumn leaves and drop by the Nonfiction (Samcheong, Seoul) store nestled in the heart of Samcheong-dong .
As expected, Samcheong-dong was packed with people soaking in the season’s beauty.
With nearby attractions like Gyeongbokgung Palace and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the area was teeming with visitors of all ages, from families to young couples and friends.
The Nonfiction store is housed in a two-story building that immediately caught my attention with its tasteful exterior and interior design. It’s been so long since I explored a space like this that I could hardly remember the last time.
The first floor was dedicated to a curated selection of lifestyle goods, including tableware and home accessories brimming with modern charm.
Some of the products were by independent artists, and the tableware, in particular, was stunning. While I admired them, the prices were quite steep, so I stuck to appreciating them from afar.
Among the eye-catching items was a Nonfiction water bottle. While it was made of plastic, the design was so sleek that I found myself tempted to take one home.
Heading up to the second floor felt like stepping into another world.
The expansive windows offered breathtaking views of autumn leaves, perfectly complementing the Nonfiction logo that was prominently displayed. It was pure fall vibes.
As a fan of Nonfiction products, I enjoyed browsing through their range, from perfumes to candles and gift sets.
One of the highlights was the view of Gyeongbokgung Palace framed by the store’s windows.
Nonfiction’s products often feature rich, woody scents, but I noticed a new addition called Beige, which seemed more neutral and light compared to their usual offerings. It felt like a refreshing change for those who prefer subtler fragrances.
While the staff kindly offered to help with scent testing, I preferred to explore at my own pace, soaking in the atmosphere.
Their candles were especially tempting, not just for the scents but for their aesthetically pleasing designs. However, I couldn’t help but notice that Nonfiction’s prices seemed to have gone up quite a bit since my last visit.
The store also had a lovely space where you could wash your hands and try out their hand creams. A small but delightful touch.
There was even a cozy seating area with views of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, complete with chairs seemingly placed for quiet reflection.
While I was tempted by the Santal Cream and Gentle Night, I ultimately decided to wait until my next trip abroad to purchase them duty-free.
Suppose you’re planning a weekend date or a casual outing. In that case, I highly recommend visiting Samcheong-dong with stops at Gyeongbokgung Palace and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. The Nonfiction store is the perfect addition to round out the day with a touch of modern luxury and design.
