Here’s a review of the Nonfiction (Seongsu, Seoul) Store, along with my impressions of Nonfiction’s new musk collection: The Beige and The Grey.

Upon stepping into the store, I was immediately struck by how seamlessly the space blended with nature.

As someone who has used Nonfiction hand creams over the years, I was particularly excited about their new line.

 

THE BEIGE / THE GRAY

 

The collection includes two sizes of perfume and a hand cream. Paired with sleek, monochrome packaging, gave off a completely different vibe compared to their signature line. Even the scent strips, designed in black and white, exuded sophistication.

​The Nonfiction Musk Collection was crafted by Maurice Roucel, a renowned perfumer famously associated with Frédéric Malle. Known for creating masterpieces such as Dans Tes Bras and Musc Ravageur. Having collaborated with prestigious brands like Gucci and Hermès, it’s truly impressive to see Nonfiction partner with such a legendary perfumer!

Next to the new collection, visitors could test the signature line's perfumes, hand creams, and body products.

A standout feature was the sunlit corner with a sink and hand washes, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the product experience by trying out their hand creams and washes.

The natural elements and thoughtful design made it feel like a serene escape in the city.

The store is spread across two floors, with the second floor dedicated exclusively to the Musk Collection.

From the furniture to the carpets, everything evoked the soft, comforting essence of musk. This focused environment made it easy to immerse myself in the scents.

THE GREY  [ MUSK / CYPRIOL / BENZOIN / MAGNOLIA ]

The Grey opens with a strong woody amber note, exuding a modern, sophisticated vibe that could even feel sensual depending on the wearer. As time passes, the scent mellows into a balance of warmth and coolness, creating a duality that’s both intriguing and comforting.

 

THE BEIGE   [ MUSK / ORRIS CONCRETE / GERANIUM / TONKA BEAN ]

The Beige greets you with a fresh white musk that’s bright and uplifting, likely due to the geranium. Its soft and warm undertones become more pronounced over time, revealing a subtle hint of vanilla that feels cozy and embracing.

Interestingly, there was also a setup with a keyboard and DJ console, perhaps hinting at a past event. The instruments perfectly captured the mood of The Beige and The Grey. 

Sunlight streamed through the windows, casting soft shadows across the cozy furniture and carpets, creating an atmosphere that felt as warm and welcoming as the scents themselves.

If you’re planning a day out in Seongsu-dong, the Nonfiction Seongsu Pop-Up Store is a must-visit. Whether you’re testing their new musk line, snapping some photos, or simply enjoying the serene vibe of the store, it’s an experience worth exploring.
