Pont Coffee (Mullae store)
Nestled in an old red brick structure in Mullae-dong (Seoul), Café Pont is a well-known spot that I’ve now visited twice, thanks to a good friend. Each time, I found myself wondering what makes this café so popular.
At first glance, the exterior looks almost ruined, with its aged bricks and industrial feel. However, once inside, the atmosphere is modern, stylish, and incredibly inviting.
Café Pont has two branches, one in Mullae and another in Yongsan.
Yesterday, we visited the Mullae location, but we’re already looking forward to checking out the Yongsan branch soon.
If you're planning a visit, I recommend taking public transportation, as parking can be limited in the area.
Unlike most cafés where baked goods are openly displayed, Café Pont keeps its pastries enclosed in glass for a cleaner, more hygienic presentation.
The financiers and canelés looked absolutely irresistible, but I resisted the temptation since I’m currently watching my diet.
Despite being constantly busy, the café had a relaxed and inviting vibe.
Fresh flowers were placed throughout the café, filling the air with a light floral fragrance.
Instead of the usual vibrating pagers, we were handed a miniature mushroom-shaped lamp after placing our order. Such a cute and unexpected touch!
Menu
Fresh Juice (left) 6,000 won / Latte (right) 5,300 won
I had heard great things about their coffee, and this latte did not disappoint. The flavor and aroma were rich, smooth, and absolutely satisfying.
On a previous visit, I had their fresh juice, and it was refreshing, naturally sweet, and not overpowering.
From the outside, Café Pont looks like an abandoned structure, but stepping inside reveals a completely different world. Modern, well-designed, and full of charm.
The music played at just the right volume, creating a calming and enjoyable atmosphere while sipping coffee.
Aside from their drinks, Café Pont also sells coffee beans and merchandise.
Mullae-dong is one of Seoul’s most unique districts, seamlessly blending traditional architecture with trendy cafés and restaurants.
After my second visit, I finally understood why Café Pont stands out among the many cafés in my neighborhood. The depth of flavor and richness in their latte were truly exceptional, making it clear why this café has earned its popularity.
